Arrived Friday last week, in Saint Louis, Missouri for the last week on the Gulfstream G450 Starlink, Venue and interior project.
On my side it will be the final inspection of the cabin after its refurbishment, including all the cabin seats reupholstery with foam replacement, new design with quilting, aft and fwd lavatory areas leather replacement, cabin sideledges panels fabric recovering, new carpet installation and these 2 new mid cabin bulkheads with their fabric curtains to allow the owner to be in a very confortable area.
A 4 months and half project with weekly visio meeting, and monthly visit, to ensure that what has been said… is done !
It passed through the FAI of the first seat, to valide that the seat is in accordance with the rendering selected by the customer, check the foam dimensions and comfort, inspect the tension and placement of the different stitching and itself the leather covering.
By the way, this project also allow me to discover the impressive WestStar Aviation MRO at East Alton (IL).
With its 4 major hangars dedicated to maintenance on Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer and Gulfstream, an additional one for the “special” project and the huge paint hangar, they offer an interior shop capacity in which technicians make miracles !!
Icing on the cake, I had the pleasure to meet a “20 years TAG Aviation Geneva friends”, Cyrille Martin Olivier.
The week is not finished… the next days would be dedicated to cabin inspection, and survey of the very last adjustment to deliver to the customer, the expected finish interior defined 4 months and half ago.
Thank you to the interior team with which we were able to exchange on the ways of doing things, which even with an ocean that separates us, are the same as in Europe.
A special thanks to its Sales support and Design specialist, Makayla Quayle, who insure the good way of the project.
Even if language is different, processes are the same and objective the same… complete a amazing interior for the customer.
