New year, new goals. ๐Ÿ’ช
Fresh mountain air always has this inspiring effect on my mind.

๐Ÿ‘‰Perfect time to set goals for 2022, No?

Here a quick (and proven) to set goals you care about and are likely to reach:
โ˜‘๏ธ1) What do you care about in work & life. Choose 5-8 areas. For example for me family, mental wellbeing, freedom. NO RIGHT OR WRONG. That is only yours!

โ˜‘๏ธ 2) Rate each between 1-10. Ask yourself:
- Why is it a 6 or 7?
- What would a 10 look like?

โ˜‘๏ธ 3) Choose for each area 1-2 goals you want to achieve in five years. Don't worry how to get there.

โ˜‘๏ธ 4) Repeat but for 1 year, 3 months and 1 months. Be specific on the outcome "I will meditate 2 times a week". "I will presented to the board by march".

โ˜‘๏ธ 5) Review your goal progress and life areas (2) in one month.

That is it. No mystery and no excuse not to start :P

This way of thinking not only feels better but will improve performance as well!

๐Ÿ’ก In my own research, participants who were looking for achieving rewards AND tried to avoid failure were more likely than others to come up with truly creative product ideas!

It doesn't mean hard-work or perseverance aren't important; instead it means that we should enjoy the journey TOO WHILE trying our best at growing or attaining goals โ€“

Every time I need to finish an important goal (like writing a boring & tough report), giving myself a present afterwards works real wonders to finish the final bits & pieces.

This is so important, because often we talk to ourselves like a mean teacher from the 19th century.

I know how it is, especially at the end of the year, when we realize that maybe we did not reach the goals we planned for ourselves.

But punishing yourself for SURE does not help. In the end it is about the doing things, like:
โžก๏ธ Writing the next application despite the 20th rejection,
โžก๏ธ Sending the email to the prospect even if they said no before,
โžก๏ธ Going on the 8th blind date

๐Ÿ’กIf anything - science tells us it is the perseverance to keep on that separates the successful from the rest.

And for that lets celebrate us for โ€œgood enoughโ€.
