Do you think that you don't have the time, strength or patience to work on your baby's sleep?

Do you think that sleep training isn't for you because you think it means leaving your baby to cry it out?

The good news is that you can improve your baby's sleep with baby steps that don't involve hours of crying.

Because it is in fact a huge myth that sleep training is cruel, harms your baby's attachment to you and means leaving your baby to cry for hours on end.

Don't believe me, see what these mums had to say after I helped them get their baby's to finally sleep more than 2 hours overnight.

What's holding you back from getting the sleep you need and deserve? Are you in survival mode and doing what's easiest to get your baby to go back to sleep? Are you worried that you won't be able to handle your baby's crying during sleep training or do you think you simply don't have the time for sleep training?

I'm here to tell you that you don't need to worry about any of these things. You can improve your baby's sleep in just a few days/weeks and won't be stuck in your house all day. Yes there will be tears but tears are your baby's way of telling you that they're frustrated because they're tired but don't yet quite know how to go to sleep. And you will be able to lovingly support your baby on the journey to independent sleep.

I dive deeper into this topic in my free mini-course: 5 simple steps to get your baby to sleep through the night. Link in bio.

Busting baby sleep myths. Sleep training is stressful and harms your baby's secure attachment to you. This couldn't be further from the truth and studies prove that sleep training doesn't have a negative effect on your bond with your baby and doesn't raise their stress hormones in the long-term. Not only that but sleep training actually has the benefit of giving both you and your child the sleep you need, promoting growth and development for your baby and resulting in a  well-rested family.

This goes out to the exhausted mums who struggle to function on a daily basis and struggle getting simple tasks done because your baby is waking up at all hours and will only sleep on you!

Please ask for help, don't suffer in silence. Involve family and friends to give you a break.

And if you're ready to tackle the problem but feel completely overwhelmed not knowing where to start or thinking that your baby's sleep can't be fixed, start simple.

Look at your baby's sleep environment.

Is the room completely dark? Is it too cold or too hot? Does your baby wear a sleeping bag?

Are you using white noise to help cover up household noises?

Look at your baby's awake windows

Is your baby overtired when you put them down for sleep?

Implement a relaxing wind down ritual to help your baby transition from awake to asleep more easily

Look at your baby's diet

Are they getting enough calories during the day? Are you including lots of protein in their diet?

And then lastly the final piece of the puzzle

Look at how your baby falls asleep, if they rely on you to fall asleep, they will also need you when waking up. So think about starting to put your baby down awake instead of asleep and starting to settle, baby in the cot instead of your arms.

Have you gone down the rabbit hole of baby sleep lately and come out feeling even more overwhelmed and exhausted because of all the conflicting advice about baby sleep that's out there?

I feel you and have done this myself when I was in the trenches with my daughter going on 2 hours of sleep.

After getting my strong-willed, stubborn daughter to finally sleep more than 2 hours and working with hundreds of exhausted mums helping them get their babies and toddlers to finally sleep through the night I have learned a thing or two about baby sleep.

And I can tell you that the biggest mistake to make is implementing every little tip and trick you read on the internet, heard on a podcast or were told by your mum friends only to throw in the towel if it doesn't completely transform your baby's sleep and deciding that your baby is "just a terrible sleeper."

You see no baby sleep gadget or quick hack is going to truly transform how your little one sleeps. And there is unfortunately no magic wand that can fix your sleep struggles.

The one only thing that will truly make a difference and help you say goodbye to those sleepless nights is a holistic sleep teaching approach where you take everything into consideration from your bub's sleep environment, naps, awake windows to what, when and how much your little one eats. This doesn't have to be complicated and overwhelming but is so very necessary to ensure your little one gets the sleep they need and you can move away from survival mode and actually start to thrive as a parent.
I'm here to help you with exactly that, taking everything into consideration to set your baby up for sleep success.

Are you in survival mode and feeding your baby back to sleep at every wake up because that's what gets them back to sleep the quickest and is easiest for you? Have you ever wondered what to do instead? Everyone tells you that you shouldn't feed babies to sleep but no one tells you what to do instead.

If your baby is still feeding quite frequently currently and is over 3 months old, you can drop down to 2 night feeds straight away by only feeding every 4 hours. What to do if your baby wakes up before the 4 hours is up? Soothe them back to sleep a different way. It's best not to replace the feeding with rocking or cuddling to sleep as your replacing one sleep association with another but if this what works for you then go for it. What's even better is that your partner can tackle some of the night wakings, allowing you to get at least a 4 hour stretch of sleep.

If your ready to further reduce night feeds, you can start to offer less and less at each feed. If your bottle feeding simply offer less volume at each feed, if your breastfeeding then offer less time at the breast for each feed.

Another option is to re-settle your baby for at least 30 minutes before offering a feed as your baby will start to sleep longer and longer stretches each night.

Be sure to add any calories you remove overnight to the day so either offer bigger milk feeds during the day or offer more solids once your baby is eating solids.

Sleep training works if you stick with it and have someone to keep you accountable (mum friend, partner, family, friend).

Pick something that works for you as a family and alignes with your parenting style and stick with it for at least 1-2 weeks. Don't chop and change it up every couple of days. This will confuse your baby and lead to more crying and more disrupted sleep. Get a support person on board to hold you accountable.
