We are looking for a Business Development Manager.
Role:
- Enhance Agro Performance by driving new product/business development initiatives, closely aligned with CPP product management, Development and Purchasing, ensuring consistency and evolution of product-portfolio across geographies;
- Track and monitor competitors & market trends to identify gaps within our portfolio. Develop and own a portfolio of future product developments/initiatives;
- Maximize Solevo’s value creation from these initiatives, by providing experienced project management to businesses, by conceiving, planning and driving of new initiatives. Prepare and support hand-over after launch to operational business.
* Market environment
- Analyze and assess competitors’ products / activities /portfolios and provide guidelines to ensure the products development;
- Understand key trends, customers and competition in order to identify gaps.
* Business Development
- Identify (a) new market-opportunities and -requirements, (b) suggest potential developments, (c) establish value capture model & prepare business case, (d) define a development program at regional and at country level;
- Define product positioning, pricing and introduction roadmap with local sales teams, if needed support with packaging and labelling;
- Drive and own the individual initiatives from ideation to potential assessment to implementation, while minimizing time to market.
*Registrations
-Evaluate legal requirements and establish if needed with regulatory manager a registration plan and prepare documentation;
- Management of the registration program and process through local operations.
*Supply and Inventory Management:
- Identify suitable suppliers, establish sourcing options and set-up necessary contracts;
- Coordinate with the supply chain function to ensure commercial roll out is consistent with development program and registrations requirements.
Background:
-Master's degree in agronomy, plant science or related field;
- First experience in product-/business-management (2-5 years) in agro, e.g. Seeds, CPP, Fertilizers, Biologics;
- Knowledge of African agriculture market, technical knowledge of Crop protection products and/or Seeds, the local legislation and legal environment.
