We continue our descent along Chile with Region VI - Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, capital city Racangua. The region was named in honor of Bernardo O'Higgins, the Liberator and Father of the Nation.
This region is known for its vineyards in Cachapoal and Colchagua valleys. The first Chilean wine route was created in 1996 in the Colchagua Valley. A reference point is the small colonial town of Santa Cruz, where you can visit all major vineyards.
The beach resort of Pichilemu, on its coast is considered one of the best places for surfing.

Es una región muy conocida por sus valles vitivinícolas Cachapoal y Colchagua. En el Valle de Colchagua se creó en 1996 la primera ruta del vino en Chile. Un punto de referencia es la pequeña ciudad colonial de Santa Cruz, desde donde se pueden visitar todas las viñas importantes.
En la costa del Pacifico se encuentra el balneario de Pichilemu, considerado como uno de los mejores lugares para practicar surf.

The Metropolitan Region of Santiago – also known as Region XIII – is the smallest of all regions in Chile but it is the most populated. This region hosts the nation's capital, Santiago de Chile. Its characteristic is being the only region of the country without direct access to the Pacific Ocean.
If you visit the capital city, don’t miss a downtown tour to see the Plaza de Armas, Palacio de la Moneda. Climb the hills Santa Lucia and San Cristóbal for great views of the city. Visit the highest tower in South America, the Costanera Center, with its 303 meters high.
Outside of Santiago, we recommend a trip to Cajón del Maipo, an oasis of nature, ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities.


La Región Metropolitana de Santiago – también conocida como XIII Región – es la más pequeña de todas las regiones de Chile sin embargo es poblada. Esta región es la sede de la capital del país, Santiago de Chile. La particularidad de esta región es ser la única de todo el país que no cuenta con un acceso directo al océano Pacífico.
Si visitas la ciudad capital, no te pierdas un tour por el centro de la ciudad para ver la Plaza de Armas, el Palacio de la Moneda y sube a los cerros Santa Lucía y San Cristóbal. Date una vuelta por la torre más alta de Suramérica, el Costanera Center, con sus 303 metros de altura.
En las afueras de Santiago, te recomendamos un paseo al Cajón del Maipo, un oasis de naturaleza ideal para practicar todo tipo de actividades al aire libre.

Did you know that in Chile - Region V - is found the largest swimming pool in the world?

¿Sabías que la piscina más grande del mundo se encuentra en la V Región de Chile?

World’s Largest Swimming Pool is found in Algarrobo, Chile at the San Alfonso del Mar resort. In December of 2006 it was officially announced as the biggest pool by the Guiness Book of World Records.

We are now leaving the “norte chico” to enter the center of the country the V Region - Valparaiso. This region has the distinction of including the island territories of Chile: Juan Fernández Archipelago, Desventuradas Islands, the Polynesian island of Easter Island (Rapa Nui) and Sala y Gómez Island.
Its capital, Valparaiso, is the main port of the country. It is built on the slopes of several hills on which thousands of colourful houses seem to be piled, the great amount of art galleries and studios gives it a bohemian atmosphere. In 2003, the historic district was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The region is also known for its numerous beach resorts villages like Reñaca or Concon in Viña del Mar; Zapallar, Maitencillo or Horcón in the north; and Laguna Verde, Algarrobo, El Quisco or El Tabo in the south.

Salimos del norte chico para entrar al centro del país por la V Región – Valparaíso. Esta región tiene la particularidad de incluir a los territorios insulares de Chile: el Archipiélago Juan Fernández, las Islas Desventuradas, las islas polinésicas de Isla de Pascua (o Rapa Nui) y la isla Sala y Gómez.
Su capital, Valparaíso, es una ciudad portuaria muy importante. Esta construida en la ladera de varios cerros sobre los cuales se amontonan miles de coloridas casitas, dándole un ambiente bohemio a la ciudad. En el 2003, su barrio histórico fue nombrado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
La región también es conocida por sus numerosos balnearios como Reñaca y Concón en Viña del Mar, Zapallar; Maitencillo o Horcón en el norte, Laguna Verde; Algarrobo; El Quisco o El Tabo en el sur.

Today we are going to discover the Region IV - Coquimbo. Its capital, La Serena, is the second most important touristic destination in the country.

A visit to Elqui Valley to enjoy its Pisco production and Punta Choros to see dolphins and pinguins is a must.
The National Tourism Service (SERNATUR) of Coquimbo, asked visitors to choose the 7 Tourstitic Wonders of the region these were: Observatory Cruz del Sur, Combarbalá; Old Town, La Serena; Basílica Menor, Andacollo; National Reserve Las Chinchillas, Illapel; Humboldt Penguin National Reserve, La Higuera; Bosque Fray Jorge National Park, Ovalle and Los Humedales de Tongoy, Coquimbo.


Hoy descubriremos la IV Región – Coquimbo. Su capital, La Serena, es el segundo destino turístico más importante del país. Este es el punto de partida para múltiples destinos como el Valle del Elqui con su misticismo y producción de Pisco, Punta Choros donde los pingüinos y delfines deleitan a los visitantes son solo algunos ejemplos de lo que hay por descubrir.
Mediante un concurso el Servicio Nacional de Turismo (SERNATUR) de Coquimbo, permitió a los visitantes elegir las 7 maravillas turísticas de la región; las elegidas fueron: el Observatorio Cruz del Sur, Combarbalá; el Casco Histórico, La Serena; la Basílica Menor, Andacollo; la Reserva Nacional Las Chinchillas, Illapel; la Reserva Nacional Pingüino de Humboldt, La Higuera; el Parque Nacional Bosque Fray Jorge, Ovalle y Los Humedales de Tongoy, Coquimbo.

Today we enter in what is called “el norte chico”, starting with Region III - Atacama, capital city Copiapó.
Located south of the salt desert of the same name, its main attractions are beach resorts Bahía Inglesa and Caldera for its crystalline and temperate waters.
Ecotourism and adventure tourism are well developed in the mountains of this region. The Nevado Tres Cruces National Park protects many Andean species and some of the highest volcanoes of the Andes like the Nevado Ojos del Salado (6,880m.) and the Nevado Tres Cruces (6,753m.).

Entramos hoy en lo que se llama « el norte chico », empezando con la III Región – Atacama, capital Copiapó.
Ubicada al sur del salar del mismo nombre, sus principales atracciones turísticas son los balnearios de Bahía Inglesa y Caldera por sus aguas cristalinas y templadas.
El ecoturismo y el turismo de aventura están muy desarrollados en las montañas de esta región. El Parque Nacional Nevado Tres Cruces protege numerosas especies de animales andinos y algunos de los volcanes más altos de la Cordillera de los Andes como el Nevado Ojos del Salado (6.880 msnm.) y el Nevado Tres Cruces (6.753 msnm.).

Today we take a tour of the Region II - Antofagasta. It’s one of the touristic regions of Chile for having the largest salt desert in the country "Salar de Atacama”.
From the mining city of Calama, travel to San Pedro de Atacama, starting point of many excursions like Geysers del Tatio, Valle de la Luna, lagunas altiplánicas, observatory SPACE, and much more.
The city of Antofagasta is the capital of the region of the same name. It has an important historical past which reflects in its monuments. Visit the city’s historic neighbourhood where you will see the Saltpetre Pier, the former Maritime Governance and the former Customs.

Hoy damos un paseo por la II Región - Antofagasta. Es una de las regiones más turísticas de Chile por poseer el desierto de sal más grande del país “El Salar de Atacama”; Puedes llegar desde la ciudad minera de Calama viajando por tierra hasta San Pedro de Atacama, lugar de salida de numerosas excursiones como Los Geisers del Tatio, Valle de la Luna, las lagunas altiplánicas, observatorio astronómico SPACE, y mucho más.
La ciudad de Antofagasta es la capital de la región del mismo nombre. Tiene un pasado histórico importante que se refleja en sus monumentos nacionales. De ellos cabe destacar el Barrio Histórico de la ciudad donde se encuentra el Muelle Salitrero, la Ex Gobernación Marítima y la Ex Aduana.
