Do you share the deep passion of empowering local NGOs to create real impact in communities affected by the ongoing crisis in Cameroon and beyond?
Are you looking to be more competitive in the international community and secure funding for your projects?
Enconnect, a leading think tank, is here to help with its upcoming Grant Writing program for NGOs in Cameroon. In light of recent economic challenges, funding for NGOs has dropped by over 40%, leaving millions of people vulnerable and in dire need of aid. According to a UN OCHA report, there is an "urgent need for treatment of severe acute malnutrition in areas affected by crises," with only 10% of the required funding received so far. This is unacceptable, and we must step up and address the paradigm shift in the funding landscape in Cameroon.Enconnect's program is a three-day event happening from June 27th to 30th on Google Meet. It is designed to build capacity and competitiveness among community-based organizations and empower them to secure vital funding to support the most vulnerable people in Cameroon. The lead expert, Mr. Banboye Frederick, is an accomplished educationist, with experience in providing real solutions to those in need. He brings a wealth of expertise in the competency-based approach, learner-centered methodology, natural and food science teaching, and sustainable environmental education, among others.Enconnect is committed to supporting the ongoing humanitarian transition through the localization of aid, enabling community-based organizations to become more competitive in the global arena. Don't miss this opportunity to improve your skills and secure funding for your projects. Register now to receive detailed information on the agenda and links to the event. Together, let's make the world a better place and provide a brighter future for those in need. The lead consultant, Justin Bongwong Berinyuy, has extensive experience working with grassroots organizations by facilitating grants trainings for numerous NGOs. Justin focuses on aiding organizations in sourcing funds and understanding the dynamics and strategic areas that require attention, while tailoring grants to build resilience with the aim of achieving better coordination and collaboration among humanitarian, development, and peace actors, using the humanitarian-development-peace nexus (HDP nexus) framework. This approach emphasizes the need for a holistic and integrated approach to humanitarian assistance, development cooperation, and peacebuilding in areas affected by crisis.Justin stresses that donors are growing tired of the traditional grant-seeking methods, and NGOs must create opportunities for sustainability while preparing themselves for ongoing localization and human transitioning, particularly in Cameroon's North West and South West regions. The think tank he leads currently runs a LinkedIn newsletter entitled "Capacity Building of CBOs," which has over 2,000 professionals subscribed to it, making it a community of practice for grant managers in local NGOs in Cameroon.
The next upcoming edition of this training is scheduled for June 27th-30th and will be held online. The event in question has piqued the interest of 16 non-governmental organizations and is eagerly anticipated by the local population, indicated by their demonstrated eagerness to attend the event electronically. Other collaborating partners include the International Youth Society, CAED AFRICA, Youth Connect Innovation Lab, and Enough for All Organization (EFAO), with open doors to any willing partners in various towns across Cameroon.
Despite the ongoing crisis in Cameroon, the international community has shifted its focus to other emergencies, leaving the situation insufficiently addressed. Therefore, we believe that creating a community of practice and building actors' skills may help ameliorate the situation. The training aims to equip community-based organizations with technology skills and innovative approaches to attract international attention through the use of cutting-edge tools. Such approaches will help improve humanitarian outcomes, better serve affected populations, and integrate community-driven interventions, data-driven approaches, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and innovative financing mechanisms.Partners interested in this program should contact Bongwong Justin via Whatsapp at 670535993 for engagement opportunities.
