The Business implication of the Cristiano Ronaldo- Manchester United saga.

Cristiano Ronaldo felt disrespected when, as a substitute, was made to warm up only to end up not being used for the match. We are in the dying minutes of the match; at the 89th minute and his disgruntled silhouette was noticed storming out of the pitch, a move branded by a majority of pundits and fans as quite "disrespectful", "childish" and "out of place" for someone who has set a level of professionalism based on unprecedented guided discipline that has led to him being distinguished everywhere he has set his sights and acted. No doubt he has successfully stayed at the top of the game for over a decade, a feat only one man has beside him achieved, his eternal rival, Lionel Andres Messi.

When Cristiano made his sensational return to the Theatre of Dreams last season from Juventus, scoring 24 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils of Manchester United, with notable clutch goals in the Champions League knock-out stages, no one would have, in their wildest imaginations imagined the turn this new season would take on their leading goal scorer when Eric Ten Hag was appointed to lead the on-field operations of the 20 times EPL Champions. The objective was imbibed in the mission; get United back to winning ways and regain its glory long lost since the days of legendary Sir Alex. With more than 2 billion pounds down the drains in transfers, through 6 managers, 2 Executive Directors, Manchester United had become a symbol of failure with no clear plan, executive scandals, poor scouting policies and worst of all, no game plan! The Glazer ownership was taking the club to an impressive stretch of monumental catastrophe! All these in just 8 years!

Ten Hag's appointment was highly anticipated, with a lot of speculation surrounding their superstar man whom by this time rumours of dressing room dissent had started cracking out following his on-field antics the season prior whenever he was to be substituted. It was to be in the backdrop of the game being centered around Cristiano Ronaldo that Ten Hag would start his pre-season; only to be taken aback by hid unwillingness to participate on grounds of "handling serious family issues". He would later on join the team in their last two games, that was after it was rumoured that his agent had contacted other clubs to get their star man a befitting place in a team that has secured champions league football. Days later, Crsitiano Ronaldo would make his intentions clear that he wants to leave United. Eric Ten Hag had already declared his intentions of keeping him.
With game time considerably reduced on grounds of lack of pre-season participation, one of the greatest the sports has ever seen was reduced to being a substitute, some times unused in highly anticipated matches. The 38 year old was clearly not in Ten Hag's game plan and it was quite evident nothing was going to change that. With just two goals across all competitions in less-evident teams, Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't take it anymore. The manager has declared in all splendour of a boss that he "will deal with it".

FOOTBALL IS BUSINESS!
The prime motive of any business is profitability and Manchester United is an organised and legal corporate entity. For over 8 years the club had fell below expected standards and despite concerns to turn things around, nothing had been working in the direction all efforts were being invested. That was one of the reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo was brought in, and that was the same reason why Eric Ten Hag was also brought in, though in different capacities. Eric Ten Hag as the manager of the team was faced with the uphill task of managing the brand of Manchester United as an entity and also manage within that brand another global brand which was Cristiano Ronaldo; that task had proved perilous to his predecessors and Ronaldo was not prepared to settle for anything less than scoring the goals and keep breaking and establishing record after record and cement his hegemony as football's greatest. Eric Ten Hag came with a plan to build and develop a team of collective talents, with a specific style of play that will facilitate the realization of the expected objectives of the club...if he does not, he knows he will get the SACK for FAILING!

The structure of today's on-field display builds play from the goal-keepers. When Pep Guardiola, in his usual ingenuity made Germany and Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer develop the ability to use his feet more in ball control to build play, little did the football world ever anticipate the effect that would have in shaping the structure and roles of some positions, especially the attackers of the opposing team who would now need to "press hard" in order to slow or break the flow of defenders' advances, giving their midfielders space to intercept and re-organize play to their advantage. This simply means all attackers must be physically fit to make runs or fall back when need be; something Cristiano Ronaldo cannot possibly. Age is catching up with him reasons why he prefers scoring goals within the limits of the 18m box as statistically proven.

For Manchester United to be among Europe's elites, they must finish in the top four of the very competitive English top flight. They must beat their noisy neighbours, the Londoners of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, Liverpool and the combative mid-table teams, that makes it atleast five top flight teams to beat of whom none has spared to splash the cash to acquire the best global talents to reinforce withering positions. Eric Ten Hag must get United where it used to be for sponsorship deals, elevated tv rights, grow fanbase who are the principal consumers of the Club's by-products and a European position that will attract rare talents This is about the club and not about Ronaldo whom on the other hand carries an image that influences media orientations; so Ten Hag and his cohorts may want to be a bit careful of their treatment to their universal influencer whom on the other hand constitutes a sizeable proportion of non-football lovers

Wheat Importation: The port of Douala suspends payment of weighing for 6 months

" Suspension of payment of the passage fee for the benefit of wheat importers ". This is the subject of the note sent on July 28 by the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Douala (PAD), Cyrus Ngo'o to the company Port Weighing Service (DPWS) in charge of weighing certain foodstuffs at the port of Douala.
The official explains that this decision is in line with the fight led by the government against the rise in consumer prices, and in application of the " very high instructions " of the President of the Republic. Thus, the Port Weighing company suspends the collection of this fee for a period of six months from March to August 2022 inclusive.

The CEO's note has a retroactive effect in the sense that the invoices already issued will be subject to credit notes to the recipients. Also, if this exemption "consequently" reduces DPWS turnover, this will be taken into consideration in the context of the contractual relationship with the PAD. This means that the port of Douala should waive, itself, certain taxes and gains levied in connection with the import of wheat.

The suspension of payment of the passage fee on wheat comes in a context where the milling sector, like other agri-food sectors, is experiencing imported inflation. Indeed, because of Covid-19 and its effects, the recent Russian-Ukrainian conflict, products whose raw material is wheat flour, including bread, have seen their prices revised upwards despite approval by the Ministry of Trade supposed to regulate these prices. This caused an increase in the price of bread from 125 to 150 FCFA per 200 gram. The millers state that the cost of producing the 50 kg bag of flour has increased by 2000 FCFA from 4500 to 6500 FCFA from the first quarter of 2021 to date.

Pending validation of Guinness takeover, SABC renounces to increase beer prices.

Determined to increase beer prices for almost a year, the Société anonyme des brasseries du Cameroun (SABC), a subsidiary of the French Castel and leader of the local beverage market, has taken the decision " to accompany the government by waiving the initially planned increase in the price of beer", according to the Ministry of Commerce. According to this administration, this decision was communicated to the Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, by the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the SABC, Michel Palu, at the head of a delegation from the Castel group received in court on July 27 in Yaoundé.
A month before taking up his post as general manager of the SABC, which took place on July 1, the new CEO, Stéphane Descazeaud, nevertheless reiterated to Magloire Mbarga Atangana the company's desire to carry out an upward revision of prices. , during a meeting in Yaoundé. In response, the Minister of Commerce asked him to wait until he officially took office...
To justify the rise in beer prices, the brewing company cited the unfavorable international context, characterized by the increase in the price of raw materials and the surge in maritime transport prices. Elements that increase the production costs of this product. While this situation has even worsened, the SABC's decision is therefore surprising.

Acquisition of Guinness Cameroon.

Contacted, the Castel subsidiary did not comment on this development. We can nevertheless see that it comes at a time when the French group has just concluded an agreement for the takeover of Guinness Cameroon, a subsidiary of the British Diageo. To finalize this FCFA 300 billion deal, which will increase its market share to more than 80%, the SABC is notably awaiting the approval of the National Competition Commission of the Ministry of Commerce. This is therefore not the time to get angry with the Cameroonian authorities opposed to the rise in beer prices.
The question was also at the center of the hearing between the Minister of Commerce and the delegation led by Michel Palu. And according to the communication services of the Ministry of Commerce, the PCA of the SABC assured that no job cuts were on the agenda. "On the contrary, the Castel group plans to invest massively to create bottling sites for Guinness products throughout the national territory", reports the same source.
Stated objective: to avoid the disparity of prices detrimental to consumers in regions where there are no production centers so far. For the French group, " the acquisition project is therefore entirely to the benefit of employees, job creation, the densification of investments and is in line with the government's policy aimed at strengthening the national production tool in view of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area".
From this report, it appears that one of the strategies of the Castel group, to obtain the agreement of the National Competition Commission, is to demonstrate that the economic gains of this acquisition on the national economy exceed the harmful effects on market competition. Article 17 of the Competition Act provides that a merger or acquisition that would harm competition may be allowed in this case.

Below is a story of how capitalists have hijacked the minds of business people and young entrepreneurs on the perceptions that "only money matters". One of the reasons why young entrepreneurs and corporate aspirants fail today is the lack of equilibrium in their lives... the lack of "work-life-balance", oh sorry..."LIFE-work-balance". Nothing is new, if we have to revisit the past, our stories, culture and real identities, we might be surprised at the treasures our past have in moulding our future activities and approaches to profitability.

Read:

A tourist came from Mexico and praised the local fishermen for the quality of their fish and then asked them?
How much time do you need to catch it? And the fishermen answered him in one voice:
"Not long"
He asked them: Why don't you spend more time and fish more?
The fishermen made it clear that their little catch would suffice their needs and the needs of their families!
He asked them: But what do you do in the rest of your time?
They answered:
We sleep late..
We fish a little...
We play with our children.
We eat with our wives.
And in the evening we visit our friends..
We have fun, laugh and chant some songs
The tourist interrupted:
I have an MBA from Harvard University and I can help you!
You have to start fishing for long periods every day..and then sell the extra fish for a bigger return
And buy a bigger fishing boat
They asked him: Then what?
He replied: With the big boat and the extra money..
You can buy a second and third boat, and so on until you have an integrated fleet of fishing vessels,
Instead of selling your catch to an intermediary, you will negotiate directly with the factories, and perhaps you will also open your own factory,
And you will be able to leave this village and move to Mexico, the capital, or Los Angeles or even New York!
From there you will be able to start your giant projects
The fishermen asked the tourist:
How much time will we need to achieve this?
He replied: About twenty or maybe twenty-five years
They asked him: What next?
He replied with a smile: When your business grows, you will speculate in stocks and win millions
They asked him in amazement:
Millions? Oh really ?
And what will we do after that?
replied:
Then you can retire
And live quietly in a village on the coast, sleep late..
You play with your children.
And you eat with your wives.
And spend the nights enjoying
with friends
The fishermen answered
With all due respect and appreciation
But that's exactly what we're doing now,
So, what is the logic for which we waste twenty-five years of misery?

Yesterday, I had a 3 hour zoom call with a 6- figure YouTuber. You know,, YouTube is one university you can never graduate from, so you need to keep learning, so i propose to him i will pay him to teach me certain things he was doing to grow his channel fast because, actually, though not a big fan of virtual marketing, i still wanted to learn.

In the course of our discussion, he began to share with me how he started on YouTube and some of the challenges he faced in the beginning.

At a point, he told me his biggest breakthrough on YouTube came after he published his 113th video. Lol. I mean, like he published from 1,2,3,4,5 riggghhht up to 113 before his breakthrough came on YouTube for him to start earning the big money! Whewww!! That is what i call "staying in power" lol, and to think people are complaining about Paul Biya! hihihi just WOW!!!

You want to make money in business but you're not patient enough to focus in ONE THING and put in the required work.

Today, you're doing affiliate marketing, tomorrow someone comes to tell you the real money is in network marketing, and just because you're not making real money in your affiliate marketing yet, you dump your affiliate marketing business and jump into network marketing. One month later, you're yet to make the kind of money they promised you in network marketing, and then you hear about e-commerce, that that's where the real money is, you dump network marketing and jump into e-commerce business! Wow!

You keep moving like that in circles and you wonder why you're struggling to make good money from your business...next thing you start investing in motivational conferences to learn magic in making money through people who have specialised in reading other people's stories and apply in a context that does not justify time and space with your aspirations (if at all you had any). You are suffering from what is called Bright Shiny Object Syndrome, the BSO Syndrome.

The truth is, there will always be someone making alot of money in just any business.
Someone is making money in affiliate business.
Someone is making millions in network marketing.
Someone is making big money in crypto trading.
Someone is doing wonders in e-commerce.
Someone is doing it bigly in channel sales and distribution.

Stop jumping from one business to the other.

Pick one business and focus on until you start seeing the results.

Have an attitude of "either it works or it works".

If you can have such a mindset, the only person that can stop you is YOU!!!
