We like to talk about Women in STEM, Gabrielle B 🔑 is the personification of that. For young ladies out there, this is a role model for you if you're into STEM.
Yesterday I had a cup of coffee with Gabrielle B 🔑 and I hardly tried to compose myself because otherwise she would have missed her next appointment.
We talked about AI Privacy & Security the whole evening.
Maybe out there dream to work at Big companies, including Banks, and Gabriel, has worked for one of the biggest banks in Canada for 5 years, and decided to start a new chapter, but risky.
For the last decade, she's attended Almost "all the conferences there are around Pen-testing", She's won a lot of awards, she's spoken to a lot of stages, given training to a lot of big institutions, served a lot of companies with her expertise, contributed to a lot of committee and associations and institutions, built a huge brand of 100k+ followers and 25+ Million post views on LinkedIn, becoming 1st woman influencer in Cyber security on LinkedIn in 2022, etc... All of that while working full time at a big Bank.
A couple of months ago, she decided to go full time as a freelancer, to better serve the world and impart business lives.
As I said, she's a model of what it looks like to be bold and take what you want.
I want to let you with 3 things I learned from her:
1- Stretch yourself beyond, look for more challenges despite being good at what you do. undeniably she's an expert in Pen-testing for AI enhanced Android app, but as she said, she attended virtual all the conferences there's is on the topic, and she competed and won many competitions. By so doing she's built authority in her field 🏑
2- Always be curious and eager to learn and invest in yourself. My key word this new year is "Systems". I'm thinking everything in my life in terms of systems. During our coffee chat I got to learn that she's taken an actual course at MIT xPRO on System Thinking, because she wanted to structure the way to she approach problem solving.
3- Be bold, and take measured risks. She left what many would call a dream job, to build something on her own and serve the world. Is it a risk ? yes, but it's even riskier
