You’re employed. But are you learning? Some of you got hired and immediately went into cruise mode.
Every day:
– Warm the office chair
– Grow a belly
– Lust over interns
– Whine about the economy
– Wait for salary alerts
That’s the full job description.
What a joke.
Employment is one of the biggest learning grounds you’ll ever get. You have access to systems, structures, tools, and people that can teach you more than any classroom ever could. But instead of learning, you’re busy counting hours to 5 PM.
If you’re employed and you haven’t learned a single new thing in the last 6 months — then you’re not working. You’re just killing time.
Ask yourself:
– Do you understand how your company runs?
– Have you mastered a new skill beyond your role? – Are you growing in value or just growing fat?
Jobs are not just about salaries.
They’re opportunities to become irreplaceable.
Use them well.
Learn everything.
Study your boss.
Understand the systems.
Build relationships.
Collect skills like currency.
Because one day, that job will end.
And when it does, the only thing that will remain is who you’ve become.
So
don’t waste it.
Work. But learn.
