FTXT Energy's 100 hydrogen heavy trucks delivered, helping the construction of China’s Xiong'an New District.

At the 6th International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Conference (FCVC) held in July 2021 FTXT Energy publicly announced that it would build a 100 Hydrogen Heavy Truck Demonstration Project to help the construction of the Xiong’an New District, and received great attention from the industry.

Earlier this month, FTXT Energy has successfully handed over the fleet of one hundred 49-ton hydrogen heavy trucks to the construction site operator. The trucks were unveiled at the Great Wall’s Technology Center in Baoding, Hebei Province. The trucks are equipped with a 100-kilowatt fuel cell system independently developed by FTXT Energy. The fuel cells feature a unique and global-leading combination of core characteristics - high power output, high efficiency, long durability and low cost. The FTXT Energy’s hydrogen fuel cell engines have undergone thousands of tests so that to prove their fitness for the application in heavy duty trucks and in a harsh construction environment.
Stay tuned for more on this project, as it will definitely provide a lot of food for thought and inputs for the roll-outs of similar hydrogen truck fleets all over the country and beyond.

On June 28, the 8th Great Wall Science and Technology Festival officially kicked off in Baoding, China. With the theme of "Accelerating Carbon Neutrality: Creating and Sharing Awareness", this year's Science and Technology Festival brought together top experts from the automotive, science and technology, and financial fields, as well as representatives of high-tech enterprises in communications, semiconductor, and AI business areas. The guests discussed the future of mobility.
The key highlights and announcements are:
• In 2025, Great Wall Motors will achieve global annual sales of 4 million vehicles and operating revenue of over 600 billion yuan;
• In 2023, Great Wall Motor's global R&D personnel will reach 30,000 people, including 10,000 software development talents. In the next five years, a total of 100 billion yuan will be invested in R&D;
• In 2023, Great Wall Motor will put into operation its first zero-carbon plant and establish a recycling system for the automobile industry chain;
• In 2025, Great Wall Motors will launch more than 50 new energy vehicles, making the proportion of new energy vehicles reach 80%;
• In 2045, Great Wall Motors will achieve carbon neutrality;
FTXT Energy was represented by the CEO, Andy Chen. His core statement during the Festival was: “Compared with Europe and the United States, China has not much time left to achieve carbon neutrality. If China wants to achieve carbon peaking, hydrogen can be an option, but to achieve carbon neutrality, hydrogen is a must."

It has been a really busy week. We took an active part in the 6th Fuel Cell Vehicle Congress in Shanghai, the biggest hydrogen and fuel cell vehicle event in China.
Apart from the exhibition booth which saw a record number of visitors this time, FTXT Energy has organized a press conference where FTXT Energy’s Chairman Will Zhang along with the leaders of the fuel cell stack, fuel cell system and hydrogen storage divisions have announced the company’s Gemini project for the first time. One of the biggest achievements announced was the 150-kW G15 stack which has received the Outstanding Product Award during the award ceremony held on June 9.
Wang Xiaohua, Shangran Power’s technical director and Vice President of FTXT Energy, announced the "Hundred Hydrogen Heavy Truck Demonstration Project" for the first time. This project is a cooperation between FTXT Energy and Dayun, Dongfeng, and Foton truck companies. Within the initiative, FTXT Energy is responsible for providing hydrogen fuel cell propulsion systems for the hundred truck fleet which will start operation in Xiongan New Area of China by the end of 2021.
At the same time, in order to further accelerate the transformation and industrial application of scientific and technological achievements, FTXT Energy and Tianjin University held a signing ceremony for the project "Research on Hydrogen Energy Vehicle Market and Business Model Innovation". Within the project, the parties will jointly carry out research activities on the promotion and application of fuel cell vehicles.
During the conference session on June 10, Dr. Sergey Ulyakhin, FTXT Energy’s Chief Innovation Officer, gave a speech titled “Key Criteria and Factors in the Selection of Hydrogen Fuel Cell System for Various Applications”. Dr. Ulyakhin’s talk was mainly focused on identification and discussion of the key sweet spots and low-hanging fruits for fuel cell technology development and industrialization.

On May 25, FTXT Energy and Sinopec Hebei Petroleum Branch formally signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of hydrogen energy production, storage, transportation and application, cutting-edge technology development, education, and research. The cooperation is meant to support the realization of hydrogen energy industry development agenda in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, to create demonstration application scenarios for the zero-emission hydrogen energy and fuel cell supply chain, as well accumulate and nurture full scope of capabilities and expertise for energy transformation in the region.
We are very excited about this partnership and are pretty sure this cooperation will help FTXT Energy and Sinopec to synergistically achieve both companies' strategic objectives in the hydrogen energy area.

On May 12, the Transportation Industry Energy Transformation Seminar hosted by Sinopec was held in Beijing. Andy Chen, the FTXT Energy’s CEO delivered a speech about Great Wall Holding’s activity in transportation energy transformation and development. The key message put forward by Andy is that future energy systems will likely develop into a combination of centralized and distributed power generation ecosystems. Solutions encompassing energy storage such as hydrogen and battery, smart energy network systems, clean energy sources such as wind and photovoltaics, will soon transform into the so-called Internet of energy (IoE) incorporating all the key elements listed above. On this premise, Great Wall Holding has developed a complete set of intelligent solutions and established photovoltaics, wind power, hydrogen, battery businesses providing energy solutions for buildings, vehicles, industrial parks, etc. Among them are the UtmoLight company active in the perovskite solar cells area, SVOLT company developing and producing lithium batteries and energy storage systems, and FTXT Energy company active in the hydrogen fuel cell and storage solutions business. It has been specifically pointed out during the speech that coordination of efforts within the clean energy community is the key to reaching the carbon peaking and neutrality objectives in the coming years.
At the end of the Seminar, Sinopec and Great Wall Holding have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Both Sinopec and Great Wall Group have accumulated certain technical and business expertise in the area of hydrogen production, distribution, refueling, storage and end use. The cooperation might allow the companies to reach synergy and succeed in the hydrogen technology and business development space.
