BOPP vs. PET pre‑coated film - which one do you actually need? 🤔

Many think it's just about price. But the performance differences go much deeper:

⭕ BOPP: lower cost, soft feel - ideal for books, standard cartons, everyday jobs
⭕PET: heat resistant, no curling, better clarity - perfect for high‑end packaging, electronics packaging, and jobs requiring high‑temperature post‑processing

Lamination problems? Before you rush to adjust your machine settings, take a step back. Sometimes the real issue isn't the equipment - it's the wrong film.

I've put together a quick checklist - 5 signs that you're using the wrong pre‑coated film:

1️⃣ Bubbles on digital prints → Switch to digital super sticky film
2️⃣ Edge curling after lamination → Switch to low‑temp or PET film
3️⃣ A fingernail leaves a white scratch mark → Switch to anti‑scratch film
4️⃣ Film peeling after hot stamping or die‑cutting → Switch to digital super sticky film
5️⃣ Discoloration on gold/silver board → Switch to a chemically stable pre‑coated film

If any of these signs appear, it's time to reconsider your film choice. In many cases, picking the right pre‑coated film solves more than half of all lamination failures.

Most people rush to adjust temperature, pressure, or blame the operator. But in most cases, the real issue is not the machine – it's the film.

Toner-based digital printings contain wax and silicone. The standard thermal lamination film just can't bond well with them.

The real fix? Switch to a dedicated digital super sticky thermal lamination film.
