On 26th Nov, nihub team visited the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) Shanghai office.

With a warm welcome of Ms. Grubor Stefanovic, the Director of the Representative Office. nihub and SCC discussed economic and innovation development in Serbia. The Serbian startups exceed at Agri-tech, Food-tech and also ITC. They are looking forward to connecting and landing in China to develop the market.

nihub discussed and introduced the common issues, mistakes and beliefs of the startups of landing and scaling in China. nihub representatives also discussed with Ms. Grubor Stefanovic how nihub could help the Serbian startups.

At the end of the meeting, initial agreements were made that nihub could deliver knowledge-sharing webinars for Serbian companies to understand more about China and China market. In addition, it is excited that nihub, together with top Serbian innovative institutions will organize an online pitch competition for Serbian companies that showcase them in front of Chinese investors and other stakeholders! We will publish more information regarding the competition in the near future!

4 brilliant designers, 4 different fields, 4 nationalities, shared the insights of the industry, personal experience and life stories.

lyla sulaiman, founder of Matter Design & Communication to talk about branding. Lyla also illustrated the key difference between art and design.

Fred, the founder of Lime & Orange, is focusing on electric product design. His work is more on realizing the functions. It is interesting to see in his life, he could craft a small vertical farm and home-brewed beer.

Roze Merie, the founder of JAC by Jacqueline Conoir, shared how she successfully transferred the business in Hangzhou with the support from her Chinese partners and local government of .

Xin, established OH. Design Studio in the old town of Hangzhou. Apart from their main business interior design, they delivered the idea of a lifestyle by organizing friends gatherings in his studio and Art Wondering with a group of fellows.

We are surprised to know that this event attracts not only entrepreneurs but also design major students and teachers. Many attenders joined nihub's event for 1st time and they gave very positive feedback about the events.

The speaker Mr. Lucas Rondez is a Swiss Entreprenuer who has been in China for more than 10 years. After working in the finance industry both in Switzerland and China, Lucas founded nihub Innovation Center in Hangzhou, China, aiming to assist foreign startups and companies with starting up, scaling, and succeeding in the Chinese market. Through his work experience in the finance industry and in connecting the international startups with the Chinese investors, Lucas accumulated market know-how and also developed his network in China.

The webinar is co-organized by nihub, the “Intercultural Management” Group at HEIG-VD (HES-SO) and Zhejiang University.

“Intercultural Management” Group aims to enable managers, engineers and entrepreneurs to connect and collaborate across cultures to create social and economic value. The webinar is a part of the project funded by the Innovation Partnership Grant (SERI). The goal is to co-create an exchange forum with the entrepreneurial community in Switzerland and in China, dedicated to education fostering technological and workplace innovation as well as successful business development in China.

Let's congratulate 3 nihub projects Squared Ant, N7R, Yuuho on passing the 3rd Linping New Town High-level Talent Project Evaluation! This week there are more than 70 innovative projects participated in this Evaluation.

nihub also interviewed the founder of Squared Ant Sam Linsen: “It is very professional assessment and we are quite excited to stand out among all the projects. Linping is now attracting talents from different regions and fields. They provide substantial network and technology and material resources for entrepreneurs. It is an ideal place to start the business. In terms of what’s next, there are still lots of things to do and a long way to go for a start-up company. But we are hopeful and ready for any challenge on the way.”
