MADhikers｜September in the Greater Khingan Range 🍂

September in Arxan was all gold.

We got lucky with the weather — clear skies, plenty of sunshine, and that crisp mountain air that makes you want to stay outside all day.

After spending too much time in the city, it felt good to hear the wind through the trees, kick through fallen leaves and just take in that cold, clean smell of the mountains.

So naturally, we kept walking deeper into the yellow. ⛰️🍂

MADStore｜We’ve opened a dedicated hat & bag accessory store on Yanqing Road, Shanghai. 🧢🎒

So… who are we?

Founded in Shanghai in 2013, N(3)XISM STUDIO is a product design studio created alongside our accessories brand, the MAD HATcher.

For the first five years, we focused on headwear. Then came bags, followed by a growing range of everyday accessories — lightweight sunglasses, belts, functional cords & buckles, and more.

🖊️ The designer behind it all — Jude Huang

A longtime participant in Shanghai’s skate & street culture.

In 2000, Jude founded and ran East, a skate shop on Shaanxi South Road.
In 2009, he became the lead designer of fashion label INKY.
In 2012, he went to the UK for a short-term study in bag design.
And in 2013, N(3)XISM STUDIO and the MAD HATcher were born.

🪡 What is the MAD HATcher?

Our aesthetic is rooted in Urban Outdoor Fusion — where outdoor functionality meets urban style.

We make things that work hard without looking like they’re trying too hard.

Every functional detail should serve everyday life. No unnecessary features. No decoration for decoration’s sake.

Our visual language grows from a long-standing love of skateboarding and American culture, extending into hiking, running, cycling, climbing, tennis, surfing and beyond.

We love reworking vintage-inspired colors and turning small, thoughtful details into genuinely useful functions.
