ChinaJoy is no longer only about games.

The exhibition now connects games with cosplay, trendy lifestyle products, comics and creators, model toys, hardware and B2B services.

This reflects an important trend: digital content is expanding into physical products, personal identity and emotional consumption.

For Go Artist, the opportunity is not simply producing more mugs, magnets or keychains. It is helping IP owners and experience creators turn their stories into plush companions, collectibles, DIY kits, achievement rewards, wearable products and display pieces.

We make this process easier by providing product development, sampling, compliant manufacturing, packaging and global delivery.

The interesting part is always how well the visual elements translate into objects people actually want to take home — where theme, product development, souvenir value, and retail experience come together.

Since 2014, we have worked on art and exhibition projects where sponsorship often covered the full cost of the exhibition and still generated strong profit. In that kind of environment, merchandise was easy to leave until the end. Not because it lacked value, but because it takes real coordination — product development, design, production, compliance, packaging, and logistics.

But markets change. For museums, touring exhibitions, immersive experiences, and cultural projects that want healthier, more sustainable growth, merchandise has to be taken more seriously. It is not only a revenue stream. It also extends the visitor experience, strengthens project identity, builds audience connection, and creates value that lasts beyond the show itself.

We take compliance seriously at GoArtist.

Our recent testing work covers product categories such as badges, keychains, decorative plaques, fridge magnets, posters, poster cards, stickers, playing cards, puzzles, and plush toys.

The reports include specific checks such as TSCA restricted substances, lead, cadmium, phthalates, nickel release, small parts, sharp points, sharp edges, mechanical and physical properties, and flammability.

For projects heading to Europe and the US, this preparation matters.

If you would like to see the detailed test report items, please feel free to contact us.

Merchandise planning should be clear before production starts.

Category, quantity, retail price, expected revenue, profit margin, and financial health — all visible in one view.

This is the kind of thinking we bring to exhibition merchandise planning.

Most people think exhibition merchandise is just about selling souvenirs.

But for touring exhibitions, it’s actually much more than that.

When a show moves from city to city, everything changes:
– different spaces
– different audiences
– different logistics

If the merchandise isn’t planned properly, it quickly becomes messy and inefficient.

What we’ve learned working with touring exhibitions is simple:

It’s not about having more products.
It’s about having the right structure.

A clear system:
• Small items that sell fast (postcards, magnets, stickers)
• Core souvenirs (keychains, tote bags, etc.)
• A few standout pieces (apparel, collectibles)

This makes everything easier:
setup, transport, restocking — and most importantly, sales.

We’ve been building these systems with exhibition teams across Europe and the US.

Not just making products,
but helping exhibitions scale their retail across cities.
