People are bored. Bored of uninspired menu in average restaurants and bored of bunch of footwear brands that look the same. The human brain is complex yet designed to forget, so make three things to discover a hidden edge for your brand:

1. attracts buyer's attention
2. gets in buyer's brain quicker
3. makes them remember you

One vision. One logo. If brands put in place a localisation strategy that identifies the cultural differences of target markets, they can boost brand value and even save money. Wherever we travel in the world, some big brands' identities are still instantly recognisable whilst sending out the message of acceptable. Because they do not wade into foreign territory without thinking about impact of local culture on them. Localisation is the process of adapting a product or content to a specific locale. The goal is to provide a product with the look and feel of having been created for the target market to eliminate or minimise local sensitivities.

One thing about frame of branding: people treat brands as they treat people - we expect certain actions and communications out of people we know. It's odd that a property lawyer gives you decorating lecture if you in his/her office to sign an estate contract. Although, choosing a competitive frame of reference can reduce the number of brands competing for attention, as well as support your brand positioning. See what they do? Apple Watch calls itself a watch instead of fitness device, and Coca-cola positions itself as a pop icon instead of soda. Wondering if SpaceX produces ice-creams, would it taste like a metal? 🤔

In 2002 LVMH sued the famous consulting group Morgan Stanley for having the opinion that Louis Vuitton was now a 'mature brand', which suggested that LV was one step away to the decline phase of a brand. A brand/product is just like a human being - they were born (introduction), grow up (growth), become adults (maturity), and retire (decline). How to dress, speak, behave, etc. are the life topic for us at different stages; so is it for brands. Identify which stage of lifecycle is your brand at, then you'd know how to branding it.
