Use of Carbon Fiber In Flight

Carbon fiber has gone to the moon on spacecraft, but it is also used widely in aircraft components and structures, where its superior strength to weight ratio far exceeds that of any metal. 30 percent of all carbon fiber is used in the aerospace industry. From helicopters to gliders, fighter jets to microlights, carbon fiber is playing its part, increasing range and simplifying maintenance.

How to make the quotation of carbon fiber cutting?

We would like to share about it here to all of you guys:)
1.First of all, we will check the drawings in three aspects:
①It has no broken or repeated line.
②It is measured in inches or metric(make sure the size correct).
③It has no right angle(cutting will require a certain R angle).
If there is any as above, our engineer will help our customer to improve it directly.

2.Next we will continue to confirm the direction of cutting(laying out in different angles will influence the strength of custom part like 45°makes it the hardest).

3.Then customers would like to determine their material(glass fiber plate, UD plate, 3K carbon fiber plate, all 3K layers carbon fiber plate, Kevlar plate, etc.)

4.Generally we would use 400x500mm plate to cut and we advise customers to fill with the plate by their parts so as to save their cost.

5.All above is to quote for common cnc cutting, and in addition, chamfer, countersunk hole and other requirements belong to secondary processing which needs to be calculated separately.

6.At last, customers could let us quote either by pieces or by the layout of whole board.
