supermom : “Thank goodness because slowing down is exactly what I needed. 🥹😭❤️

Moving out to the mountains for the winter is one of the best things I could have ever done for my mental health. There really is something in the mountain air that’s good for your soul.🏔️❤️

I was a ski/snowboard guide my entire adult life and I’ve never had more fun than when on the bunny hills teaching my own kids how to ski. 🥹🎿

Today we skied until the hill closed and my daughter wanted to keep going so I pulled her up the bunny hill at least 30 times 😂 we had a BLAST. Being a mom is so freaking fun I could cry.

Yay, we made it?!? Counterfeit knock-offs! They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but in this case it makes us nervous. These products are lazy copycats, not to mention dangerous. It’s probably safe to assume that if someone is using sloppy AI for their product photos, their quality control is also lacking. Also, despite their suggestion, do not use their thin-stringed product for anything close to “children under 165 pounds”! You will be guaranteed not to have a “Happy Day”. (Counterfeit brands featured: Oshhni, YEESOM, Covaner)

.go.exploring: “ to the rescue here for easily allowing us both to navigate this tricky section at the end of the day”

“Should’ve stuck to the blue run here.

A reminder that if you’re skiing with beginners, going down the mountain only on ‘green’ runs might not always be the best option.

This green run was quite narrow, making wide turns difficult to do, and it was too steep to just go straight down. In this case a nice and wide groomed blue run would’ve been much easier, faster and more enjoyable to go down. Lesson learned.

💚 follow .go.exploring as we teach our young kids to ski and more family adventure fun

: "From hula hoops to harnesses and everything in between, training tools are one of the most controversial topics when it comes to teaching small humans how to ski. When they're well designed and well used, they can be a big help. And on the flip side, they can create some bad habits and/or be downright dangerous.

I've tried a lot of these tools in my 20+ years as a ski instructor and even went viral with a video of my kid in a harness (check out my pinned post). But nothing quite compares to the simplicity and effectiveness of my new favorite: .

It offers just enough support and steering to keep your skier safe and help them learn without creating bad habits like leaning back or relying on the rope for braking. It was designed by fellow certified instructors and it's packable and portable enough to pop in your jacket or backpack. Plus they come in absolutely vivid neon colors that you can't miss on the mountain, adding even more to the safety factor.

No, I'm not being paid to tell you all this! They sent me my first one to try out for free, but I liked it so much that I had my ski school buy a case of them for us to use with students, and spent time during training teaching my staff how to use them.

If you're looking for a training tool to support your young skier in actually learning, definitely check out Slope Ropes.

(from 2022) : "Over the last month and a half Emi went from age 2 to 3, excitedly said goodbye to her ski leashes and ski edgie we**ie, and fell in love with the that you see here. She uses it when the terrain gets steep, or she’s feeling a little hesitant. We all need a ⛷ She still needs to hold me all night to stay asleep, but I don’t plan on that changing anytime soon, but WOW kids are amazing in how quickly they develop and build confidence when we tune in to their needs and give them opportunities to thrive.
