China RoHs certification (1): Brief introduction and product catalog
RoHs is the abbreviation of “Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances”.
China RoHs Certification refers to the voluntary certification of electronic information products pollution control.
On February 28, 2006, the Administrative Measures for the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products was formally promulgated and came into effect on March 1, 2007. The Administrative Measures determined that the six toxic and hazardous substances contained in electronic information products, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), should be controlled by catalog management. Promote the prohibition or restriction of its use step by step. There are two RoHs certification options included: China RoHs compulsory certification and China RoHs self-declaration.

CCC certification for explosion protection products (China EX certification)

From Oct. 1, 2019, Certification of explosion protection products had a major change, partial of traditional China EX products changed to CCC certification.

According to CCC certification regulation, if your products already explicitly used in explosive protection, the products shall be CCC certificated immediately after Oct. 1, 2020.

Five steps for CCC certification application
Application: Application supporting materials should be submitted to Chinese authorities (CQC).
Testing assignment: after application was registed and accepted by CQC, Sample shipment notice will be sent out and assigned to an officially certified Chinese laboratory.
Evaluation: samples need to be checked for construction, critical component information and test to see whether it comply with chinese standard requirement or not.
Factory auditing: Before CCC certification be released, each new factory needs to be audited by a qualified CCC auditor.
Certification: when all of above items confirm to comply, CQC will release CCC certification, products can be affixed with the CCC logo, and products can access Chinese market.
