Old Town, Ha Noi....saying goodbye to Vietnam. Of the places I stayed, this city could be home. DA Nang and Vietnam is amoung the fastest growing economies in the world. They bild cities at the same rate SA builds a main road. Hard work is no stranger to those that live here but you never get the feeling that anyone feels hard done by. The only time I got scammed was when someone resoled my sandal on the street, mostly my fault I could have kept on walking.. it was still a good job and we got to know each other as we sat side by side on the street pavement. Him with glue and me a little baffled as to why I was there.
Takes a while to settle into a new place, to get used to walking into what looks like someone's house for dinner....it is their house but also a restaurant and probably a karaoke bar, and occasionally you must sing for your supper ... what a memorable 2.5 months and I only scratched the surface.
