Old Town, Ha Noi....saying goodbye to Vietnam. Of the places I stayed, this city could be home. DA Nang and Vietnam is amoung the fastest growing economies in the world. They bild cities at the same rate SA builds a main road. Hard work is no stranger to those that live here but you never get the feeling that anyone feels hard done by. The only time I got scammed was when someone resoled my sandal on the street, mostly my fault I could have kept on walking.. it was still a good job and we got to know each other as we sat side by side on the street pavement. Him with glue and me a little baffled as to why I was there.

Takes a while to settle into a new place, to get used to walking into what looks like someone's house for dinner....it is their house but also a restaurant and probably a karaoke bar, and occasionally you must sing for your supper ... what a memorable 2.5 months and I only scratched the surface.

Ho Chi Minh - where its easier to use a scooter to cross a road than walking, where is everyone going!? Vibrant mix of cultures, food, shops and more hustle than one can imagine. A must see. Surviving the roads is a thing! Best food. 🌍

Its not in living memory the Vietnam was ended. I know so little about it. Horrific as with all wars but what a resilient people. And considering how short a time ago they fought, and how the welcome everyone, what a forgiving society.

Strange... parts slightly downtrodden, parts modernized this colonial building filled with a stunning variety of contemporary art. Every room tells a different story, blending Ho Chi Minh City's history with its creative future. One of my favourite discoveries in Saigon so far. ❤️
