Sourcing BMC from China? The lowest quote is rarely the cheapest part.
A molded thermoset part is not a commodity. The compound, the mold and the molding process interact — and if a supplier is strong in one while outsourcing the other two, you absorb the cost as warping, porosity or dimensional drift.
Before you compare prices, check three things:
🔹 Is it a real manufacturer, or a trading company? Ask for the production address, and ask which workshop runs which process.
🔹 Can the qualifications be verified? Ask for the UL Yellow Card number and look it up yourself — ours is E504820.
🔹 Are material, mold and molding under one roof? A molder that formulates its own compound can fix a warping problem instead of negotiating whose fault it is.

Your insulator is also a thermal bottleneck. Here's how to fix that.

Standard BMC and SMC are great electrical insulators — and terrible heat conductors (0.2–0.6 W/m·K). For an EV onboard charger or an 800 kW charging connector, that's a problem.

Why is almost all anti-static BMC black? And can you get it in another color?

Static discharge can destroy a chip, ignite methane, or shut down a production line. Anti-static BMC solves this by embedding a conductive network inside the polymer — dropping surface resistivity from 10¹³ Ω down to 10⁵–10¹¹ Ω.

The new T/CEEIA 904-2025 standard defines three grades (AS-1, AS-2, AS-3) for the first time. But here's the part most engineers don't know: the industry standard anti-static filler — carbon black — locks you into one color. Black.

We've changed that. Non-black anti-static BMC meeting AS-3 requirements is now possible.
