WHO IS MURRY EVANS?

On 16 Oct 1963, Murry opened the first franchised Burger King restaurant in the state of Alabama, in Mobile.

He continued to open Burger King restaurants and grow his company to a total of 69 B.K. restaurants in four states: Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, and Florida.

In 2000 he sold his 69 B.K. restaurants to the Burger King Corporation.

When Murry sold his company to Burger King Corporation, it was the largest privately owned corporation in the state of Alabama.

Murry's personal goal when he opened his first Burger King restaurant was to own 5 Burger King restaurants and to be "The Best" fast food operation in the city of Mobile, Alabama. By being "The Best" he also became "The Largest" in the state of Alabama.
