"Beograde, dobro jutro!"

Beograde, dobro jutro! (Belgrade, good morning)
With these words, writer and journalist DuÅ”ko Radović greeted the people of Belgrade every morning.

He was one of the most beloved Serbian authors, known for his short, witty, and wise reflections on love, children, life, and everyday moments. He worked as a journalist, editor, aphorist, and radio show creator, but he is best known for his morning program on Radio Belgrade, where he inspired the city and its people each day.

His sentences are short, yet they stay with you.
Perfect for those learning Serbian – because with just a few words, he says so much.

Zezanje (noun, neuter) – means joking around, fun, laughing, or light teasing with good intentions.
Example:
– What are you doing tonight?
– Nothing special, just some ā€œzezanjeā€ with the crew.

In Serbian, ā€œzezanjeā€ is often used when the vibe is relaxed and everyone’s having a good time.
You might also hear:
ā€œMa, samo se zezam!ā€ – which means ā€œI’m just kidding!ā€ or ā€œDon’t take me seriously.ā€
If you want to fit in with people in Serbia — no joke — you need to know what zezanje means! šŸ˜„

ā—ļøDon’t use it in formal situations — this is slang!

In everyday conversation, Serbs don’t just say ā€œOKā€ — we’ve got our own expressions for that. Here are a few ways to say ā€œOKā€ in Serbian:
U redu – all right
Može – that works
Važi – sounds good / got it
Dogovoreno – agreed
Dobro – okay / fine

Each one has a slightly different vibe, but they all mean you’re saying yes or agreeing with something. Which one’s your favorite?
