Our holistic approach to conservation intertwines activities and programs in five directions - education, research, preventive conservation, conservation-restoration, documentation and communication. Our understanding of conservation requires teamwork, interdisciplinary competences and joining forces with experts from other fields related to heritage, research and education. CIK contributes to dev

elopment of conservation on professional and academic level, as well as to capacity building for heritage preservation, by developing training and research projects at national and regional level. In communication, special attention is given to raising awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage among different groups of users.
