Our electric lady is breaking records ⚡⛵️
We’ve proudly completed our first big challenge:
Sailing around Europe and make our way into the Mediterranean.
It’s been a long and incredible journey, with as few marinas as possible and as much sea and nature as we could get. Anchoring in magical bays, long days under sail, and a whole lot of nautical miles through Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal — all the way to Gibraltar, including the expected challenge of keeping the orcas away from us along the way.
Just a little further and we’ll take a break.
But not quite yet 😉
Sailing our “electric lady” 2ez x4.9mk2 by x-yachts and breaking records with her is a slightly different story. It takes a gentle touch, a lot of attention, consideration and plenty of determination. We’re learning her limits, disadvantages and advantages as we go, keeping an open mind and thinking creatively.
And bringing all of that together with good seamanship and safety. Electric bost also means a lot of precise, enjoyable sailing. And sailing is still the best part of all. ⛵️
So, despite all the challenges along the way, we’ve successfully completed our first big mission aboard our sophisticated 2EZ. ⚡️
We stopped in marinas as little as possible, anchored in bays as much as possible, sailed as much as possible — and whenever we could, the sails were up. 🪬
All of this while connected through Starlink — work, family, dreams and making those dreams happen. Everything is going on at the same time. Sometimes it feels as if I’m here, there… and nowhere at all.
Life has changed since Starlink, and we’re adapting to that change from its blue side. 🌊
There’s something very special about finally arriving in the Mediterranean. The first thing that hits you is the blue — deep blue sea and crystal-clear water. Orit and I are so excited by all this blue that we seem to be spending more time swimming than sailing… 😄
And the second thing that hits you is… there’s no wind.
We’d already gotten used to the good stuff.
From here, we continue east towards the Cannes Yachting Festival, where we’ll proudly show off 2EZ to everyone passing by — after she has already proved that she can do a lot more than just look beautiful at a boat show.

Exactly how many nautical miles have we covered since the beginning of this adventure?
