The Seychelles Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has issued Notice No. 5 of 2026, confirming the restoration of goAML services and their transition to the new โ€œfiuseychelles.scโ€ domain, effective 18 August 2026.

Reporting entities should take note of several important operational changes:
โ€ข STR/SAR, Virtual Asset and Beneficial Ownership submissions must now be made through the new official links.
โ€ข STR/SAR submissions by email will no longer be accepted, and electronic reporting through goAML must resume.
โ€ข One-Time Password (OTP) authentication has been introduced, requiring users to ensure their registered email addresses are up to date.
โ€ข Submitted reports will now be archived after seven days and will no longer be retrievable by the reporting entity through goAML. Entities wishing to retain copies should download and securely store them within this period.

โš ๏ธ Reporting entities should promptly update bookmarks, internal procedures and relevant operational references to reflect these changes.

๐Ÿ“ขThe Financial Services Authority (FSA Seychelles) has launched a mandatory survey for all active capital markets licensees to better understand the market share and investor origin landscape of the Seychelles capital markets industry. The information collected will support the FSA's regulatory and promotional strategy, including identifying key jurisdictions and markets for future engagement initiatives.

โ€ผ๏ธParticipation is mandatory for all active FSA capital markets licensees, with all responses being treated confidentially and used in aggregated form only. The deadline for submission is set on 11 August 2026.

On 24 June 2026, FATF launched a public consultation on draft guidance for strengthened Recommendation 16, focused on increasing transparency in cross-border payments. The revised standard is expected to be implemented globally by the end of 2030, with consultation feedback due by 21 August 2026.

For financial institutions, VASPs and other regulated businesses, the practical implications are worth tracking now:

โ—The Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has launched two important public consultations on draft technical standards that will support the implementation of the EU's new AML/CFT framework. ๐‚๐ฒ๐’๐„๐‚ - ๐‚๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐„๐ฑ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง is encouraging all regulated entities to actively participate in the consultation process.

The consultations cover:

โ–ช๏ธDraft Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on the format for reporting suspicious transactions and submitting transaction records under the AML Regulation (AMLR).
โ–ช๏ธDraft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on assessing the inherent and residual ML/TF risk profiles of obliged entities in the non-financial sector under AMLD6.

These consultations provide regulated entities with an important opportunity to contribute to the development of the EU AML/CFT framework before the standards are finalised. Comments are invited until 20 September 2026 (ITS) and 27 September 2026 (RTS), with public hearings scheduled in September.

Input from businesses and professional is essential to inform AMLAโ€™s approach.

๐Ÿ“ข As of 1 July 2026, crypto-asset services in the European Union may only be provided by entities authorised under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
CySEC - Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission has reminded investors that, following the end of the transitional period, CASPs must operate in accordance with the MiCA framework.

What does this mean for investors?
โœ” Verify whether your crypto-asset service provider is authorised under MiCA.
โœ” If your provider is not authorised, consider transferring your crypto-assets to an authorised CASP or a self-hosted wallet, where appropriate.
โœ” Be aware that clients of unauthorised providers do not benefit from the safeguards and protections available under MiCA, including protections relating to client assets.
