⚓ Connecting with Maritime Heritage 🇵🇭

Marlow cadets recently visited Museo del Galeón in , where they explored the Philippines’ rich maritime heritage and the historic legacy of the galleon trade.

From the impressive Galeón Espíritu Santo to immersive exhibits celebrating centuries of seafaring tradition, the visit gave cadets a deeper appreciation of the profession they are preparing to join.

At Marlow Navigation, developing future maritime leaders means connecting practical training with the history, values, and spirit of life at sea. 🌊💙🙏

Seafarers must remain at the centre of the shipping industry’s response to today’s global challenges, Marlow Navigation Joint Managing Director and Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) President Andreas Neophytou stressed during the CSC Annual General Meeting in Limassol this week. 🌍⚓

“Their safety, wellbeing and fundamental rights are not negotiable and should be all Governments’ top priority.”

The meeting also focused on the industry’s green transition, competitiveness and the future of Cyprus shipping; addressing industry leaders, government officials and international stakeholders, including the President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou and Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis.

⚓🌍🇱🇰 First Marlow Seafarers Seminar in Sri Lanka

Marlow Navigation and Centrum Marine successfully hosted their very first Seafarers Seminar together in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with almost 100 participants across both morning and afternoon sessions. The seminar provided a valuable platform for engagement, learning, and strengthening relationships within the seafaring community.

Bringing together seafarers, shore-based teams, and special guests, the event reflected the continued growth in cooperation between Marlow Navigation and Centrum Marine since the partnership was established in 2022, with a dynamically growing number of seafarers serving onboard Marlow’s crew-managed fleet.

Welcome notes and presentations were delivered by Crew Superintendent from Marlow’s Head Office in Cyprus, Mike Naradko, and Managing Director of Centrum Marine, Kalinga De Silva.

The seminar covered the latest company updates and industry trends, while also focusing on key topics, including safety management and onboard best practices, seafarer mental health and resilience, training and professional development, as well as the importance of effective communication at sea and ashore.

Through interactive discussions, case studies, and expert insights, participants explored practical ways to strengthen wellbeing, teamwork, and career growth within the maritime industry.

We were also honoured to welcome distinguished guest speakers Ranil Thilakaratne and Harshana Dassanayake, who shared valuable perspectives on mental health, personal development, and communication.

The event concluded with a social networking mixer attended by seafarers and their families, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that encouraged meaningful connections beyond the professional setting. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

A sincere thank you to all participants, speakers, and organisers for making this inaugural seminar in Sri Lanka such a memorable and successful occasion. 🙏

Our warmest wishes to you and your family for the Lunar New Year 🧧

As we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, we look to the horizon with renewed energy, mindful of what truly drives our industry forward: momentum, resilience, and trust. 🐎🔥⚓

Progress is not measured by speed alone, but by rhythm, steady hands on the helm, and the confidence to navigate changing tides. Like the Horse in full stride, our work calls for endurance, focus, and the courage to move decisively when it matters most.

May this year bring fair winds when you need them, calm seas when you deserve them, and the clarity to ride every wave with purpose. From first light on deck to golden sunsets at sea, may 2026 be a year of health, vitality, prosperity, and bold strides forward for you, your crew, and your families.

Fair winds and successful voyages ahead 🚢 🌅
