Marlow Navigation Since 1982, Marlow Navigation has grown to become a globally renowned and trusted name in commercial ship management.

Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, Marlow Navigation is a leading independent provider of ship management services, offering technical management, crew management, and seafarer training. Today, a network of 30 fully controlled offices spanning across 14 countries, with over 1,300 shore-based staff, 16,000 crew on board vessels and 26,000 active seafarers in the employment pool, underpin the company’s success story, business sustainability, and client-focused ethos. One voyage. Two very different sides of

Earlier this week, our CENTAURUS, with her 100-tonne bollard pull, was busy towing the newbuild REM OCEAN from Singapore 🇸🇬 towards Norway 🇳🇴 via the Cape of Good hope, seen here during a bunker stop in Las Palmas, Canary Islands.

Towing an uncrewed vessel safely across the ocean requires planning, teamwork, skill, and careful manoeuvring, especially when entering port, where harbour tugs are often needed.

During the voyage, one of our crew members crossed the equator for the very first time, marking the occasion with a long-standing traditional seafaring ceremony! 🌍⚓👨‍✈️🔱

📢📰 Marlow Training Journal 2026 – Out Now!

The Training Journal serves as an important platform for sharing developments, initiatives, and insights in maritime education and training across the Marlow global network, together with feature reports covering some of the most relevant topics shaping the industry today.

In the Opinion piece, we examine the role of the firmly established Marlow Training Matrix and Continuous Proficiency Development (CPD) in supporting long-term competence, while also exploring the importance of maintaining balance between systems, structure, and the human element.

For the Analysis, expert at Lloyd’s Register Maritime Decarbonisation Hub covers the importance of strengthening the trainer pipeline for alternative fuels education and supporting the industry’s wider transition towards decarbonisation.

Meanwhile, in the Interview, we speak with newly appointed Training Director at our dedicated partner United Marine Training Center (UMTC) in Manila, discussing how maritime education must continue to evolve to prepare cadets and seafarers for an increasingly digital, automated, and sustainability driven industry.

Developing Tomorrow’s Maritime Professionals ⚓🎓
From office departments to a vessel visit at the port of , this year’s interns at Marlow HQ experienced the many facets of the maritime industry through practical learning, networking, mentorship, and real-world exposure.

A total of 10 interns joined the company from universities in Cyprus, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, as well as a couple of secondary school students exploring potential educational and career paths for the future.

For us, internships are about more than work experience; they’re about sharing knowledge, inspiring future talent, and giving the next generation hands-on experience and a real glimpse into the fantastic career opportunities within our industry.

Well done to all our interns for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment during their time with us, and we wish them every success in their studies and future careers! 👏

🚢 New Alternative-Fuel Training Facility in Manila 🇵🇭

Proud to have participated in the recent groundbreaking ceremony of the United Marine Green Energy Center, a new training facility being developed by our long-time training partner in the Philippines, United Marine Training Center, Inc. (UMTC).

The new facility will strengthen the training infrastructure available to seafarers preparing for the increasingly advanced technologies and operational demands of modern vessels.

Designed to support the next generation of alternative-fuel vessels, the centre will provide realistic, hands-on training in vessel operations, safety, and emergency response, helping bridge the gap between emerging technologies and the competencies required to operate them safely.

The development also represents an important opportunity to strengthen the career prospects of Filipino seafarers while supporting shipowners introducing next-generation vessels. Investing in people today means building the highly skilled, future-ready workforce that global shipping needs tomorrow. ⚓

As a long-standing member of the International Maritime Employers' Council (IMEC) and a major employer of Filipino seafarers, Marlow Navigation is a key stakeholder in training initiatives supported through the International Maritime Training Fund (IMTF), which is helping fund the development of the new facility.

The UMTC project is also supported by Green Marine Group and Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), with funding through IMTF, an initiative supported by the Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) and IMEC Philippines.

🎓 Congratulations to our newest postgraduates! 🎉

We are delighted and proud to congratulate four members of the Marlow team who have successfully completed their Postgraduate studies at Frederick University Cyprus .

Congratulations to Keith Adrian Bernabe, Christopher Donn Ramirez, and Cyril Bernard Relota on earning their MSc in International Trade and Shipping Management, and to Konstantinos Filippou on completing his MSc in Marine Engineering and Management.

Balancing postgraduate studies alongside full-time professional responsibilities is no small achievement. Their dedication and commitment are truly commendable and inspiring.

Continuous learning doesn't stop at the office. ⚓🔧

Recently, members of our Technical Department’s HSSQE team took part in a two-day practical training programme on board M/V LENA during her scheduled dry-docking at ONEX Shipyard in , 🇬🇷.

By stepping on board and working alongside our seafarers, the team strengthened the connection between ship and shore, gained valuable hands-on experience, and reinforced best practices in safety, quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

Investing in people means investing in safer, smarter, and more reliable ship management operations. 👏
