There's something quietly remarkable about a Dover departure at dusk.
The white cliffs fading into the evening, the castle standing watch, and the harbour alive with the steady choreography of ferries arriving, turning, and slipping back out into the Channel. It's a scene that plays out hundreds of times a week — and yet, from the bridge wing, it never quite loses its draw.
Behind every one of these sailings is a team working with precision and pride: deck and engine crews, hotel customer-facing staff, and the shoreside teams who keep it all moving. The Dover Strait remains one of the busiest stretches of water in the world, and operating safely and reliably across it, day in and day out, is a genuine credit to everyone involved.
We are proud to play a part in managing vessels that serve this iconic route — and grateful, on evenings like this, for the reminder of why this industry gets under your skin.
