🔐 NIS2 readiness is progressing, but significant challenges remain.

A recent survey conducted by the Office of the Commissioner of Communications / Εθνικό Κέντρο Συντονισμού Κυβερνοασφάλειας, National Coordination Centre, NCC-CY among 87 Cypriot organisations within the scope of NIS2, provides a useful snapshot of the practical challenges facing essential and important entities.

While 𝟱𝟮.𝟵% 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗜𝗦𝟮 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, the findings highlight some important barriers:

▪️ 𝟱𝟳.𝟱% identified limited financial resources as a key challenge
▪️ 𝟰𝟮.𝟱% reported a shortage of specialised cybersecurity personnel
▪️ 𝟯𝟵.𝟭% highlighted difficulties understanding NIS2 requirements
▪️ Only 𝟱𝟱.𝟮% had an approved Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan

Although the findings relate specifically to Cyprus, they highlight broader considerations for organisations across Europe: 𝗡𝗜𝗦𝟮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. It requires a structured and sustainable approach to governance, risk management, incident response, business continuity and ongoing compliance.
