Connectivity is part of AI data quality. When IoT devices lose coverage, drop packets, hit congestion or switch networks, the data your AI depends on arrives late or incomplete.

That's the case Transforma Insights makes in its new position paper, "Connecting AI: The critical role of connectivity in AI data quality."

The damage shows up as missed events and false alerts. A routing AI keeps planning around a van's position from 15 minutes ago. And since people often can't trace the problem back to the network, they blame the model.

On Thursday, October 29, Matt Hatton of Transforma Insights and Assaf Harel of FLOLIVE® will walk through how connectivity shapes the data your AI runs on, and what AI-ready connectivity looks like.

8:00 PT / 11:00 ET / 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET. Virtual.

Your AI flagged an event that never happened.

The connection dropped for a few minutes. The model kept running.

When a device loses coverage, AI can continue working with incomplete or delayed data. The output looks plausible, but it can be wrong. Teams can spend weeks tuning the model while the underlying problem sits in the network.

A Transforma Insights position paper, sponsored by FLOLIVE®, traces that chain from connectivity to business outcome: how coverage gaps and packet loss can become missed events and false alerts.

It also distinguishes three types of AI using IoT data: customer AI, real-time operational AI and security AI. One device can feed all three, but each has different data requirements.

Before tuning the model again, check whether its inputs arrived complete and on time. Better AI starts at the network layer.

A tracker crosses a border and attaches to the wrong network.

The roaming bill climbs. The signal drops. Nobody on your team touched anything.

IoT devices have no screen and no user to pick a better network. Steering makes that choice for them, using rules you set for signal strength, cost, and regulatory compliance.

FLOLIVE® runs steering at three layers inside one platform: SIM-based, core network, and billing-based. You configure the rules in the Connectivity Management Platform, and devices switch networks dynamically.

The result: better performance, lower cost at scale, and fewer manual fixes.

Your devices choose the right network on their own, so your team can focus on what those devices do for your business.

Extending IoT coverage in Brazil should also make connectivity easier to manage.

For farms, fleets and remote utility sites, cellular coverage gaps can mean missing data and reduced visibility into operations. Adding satellite brings greater reach. Bringing both networks into one service makes that reach practical to manage at scale.

Last night at Futurecom, our team announced announced FLOLIVE® and Skylo are combining local cellular connectivity in Brazil with satellite NTN coverage where cellular signal is poor or unavailable.

Devices use cellular where coverage exists, with satellite extending connectivity beyond the terrestrial footprint. Both are managed through the Flolive platform, with one invoice.

Through our Brazilian partners iuh! Digital and NLT, this gives enterprises a way to extend IoT deployments into harder-to-reach locations while keeping connectivity operations in one place.

By 2030, 8 in 10 frontline workers at major companies will have an AI system working next to them, according to recent Gartner research.

Most of those systems won't be typing prompts. They'll be picking things up, driving, or flipping a switch.

Gartner's read: IoT infrastructure stops being a way to collect data. It becomes the layer that carries out the decision.

An autonomous agent switching off a valve because it misread a sensor is a different kind of failure than a bad data point. Gartner's answer: give every agent an identity, permissions, and an audit trail, same as a person.

If an agent on your network took the wrong action tomorrow, could you show who requested it and why?

Gartner predicts physical AI and autonomous agents will transform connected systems by 2030, driving new IoT infrastructure roles, energy management, and AI governance in enterprises.

Taking a connected product into a new market raises practical questions. Where will its data travel? How quickly does it need to respond? What happens when the connection fails?

This October, FLOLIVE® is heading to five events to discuss those questions with teams building connected devices, physical AI applications, and the networks behind them.

Meet us at:
• Futurecom | São Paulo | October 6–8
• OCP Global Summit | San Jose | October 12–15
• Physical AI & Robotics Summit | London | October 13
• The MedTech Conference | Boston | October 19–20
• Telecoms World Asia | Bangkok | October 27–28

Whether you're planning a new deployment or working through the challenges of scaling, we'd welcome a conversation.

Message us with the event you're attending and what you're working on. We'll connect you with the right person on our team.

A smart meter in a Jakarta basement has one job: send its reading, on time, for years, without anyone climbing down to check on it.

That's the reality for the utilities, meter makers and integrators we met at .

Meters, grid sensors and EV chargers are going in across Southeast Asia. Each rollout runs into the same practical questions. Which networks can the device use in each country? Where does the data land? What happens when a regulator says it stays in-country?

FLOLIVE® breaks traffic out locally, so meter data stays close to where it's collected.

Our team spent 3 days in Jakarta working through those questions with the people rolling out the devices. Thanks to everyone who made time for us. The follow-ups have started.

A truck crossing from South Africa into Zimbabwe changes more than its number plate.

Different network footprints. Different bands. Different regulatory frameworks. Different operators, each with their own agreements.

Sahan Sahsuvaroglu from Bayobab named what most deployment plans get wrong. Africa is not one operating environment. What works at Beitbridge may not work at the next crossing north.

Which is why connectivity cannot be bolted on at the end of a project. It has to be in the solution from day one.

FLOLIVE® gives you one core to work with while the device moves through all of it.

Sometimes an inquiry puts the value of what you’ve built into words better than you could yourself.
An asset tracker manufacturer recently contacted us about expanding into a new market. One line stood out: “We ship hardware that needs exactly that.”

They had looked at our local core approach and understood what it meant for their product. Every tracker they ship carries the SIM they design in. That makes their connectivity partner part of their growth, in that first market and the markets after it.

Their trackers work indoors and outdoors, and they need connectivity that can keep up with both. Moving into a warehouse or plant shouldn’t mean slower updates or an asset disappearing from view until it comes back outside.

That’s the kind of conversation we want to have. A manufacturer sees how our network fits what they’re building and comes to us with a clear requirement: help their devices keep reporting wherever their customers use them.

It’s a good feeling when the value you’ve worked to build comes back to you in an inquiry.

Your AI roadmap has five promising directions. Your budget covers one. Which do you commit to?
That’s the kind of decision you could bring to a one-hour conversation with Nicolas Babin, AI advisor, former Sony executive and Digital EU Ambassador.

FLOLIVE® is offering three companies a complimentary consultation, exclusively for attendees of Rony Cohen’s session at The Things Conference in Amsterdam.

Bring a decision you’re working through: where AI can add value to your product, how to approach data sovereignty, or which business opportunity deserves investment. You set the agenda, with Nicolas bringing 35+ years of technology and business experience to the discussion.

To apply, attend Rony’s session on Tuesday, September 22 at 11:00 and scan the QR code on his final slide. Three submissions will be selected after the conference.
