I often hear these questions that many women ask, when considering egg donation: “Will I love the baby? Will the baby love me? Will the love and the connection be the same, as it could have been, had it been my own egg?”

And they have no way to answer this question because they cannot live through these options and compare. The only way is to ask those who have children created in both ways: own egg and donor egg.

“For mig handler moderskab ikke om gener, men om kærlighed, tilknytning og båndet til mine børn.

Jeg er mor til Carla på 12 år, som er lavet med mine egne æg, og Ludvig på 8 mdr., som kom til verden gennem ægdonation.

Jeg har groet begge børn i min mave, født dem begge, ammet dem og sovet med dem tæt ind til mig gennem deres første år.

Og mit moderskab føles præcis det samme. Ludvig er vokset under mit hjerte, lavet af mit kød og blod og har ligget og lyttet til mine hjerteslag. Jeg elsker begge mine børn lige højt.
