๐ŸŒ Atmospheric Modelling with AERMOD View

Our team provides advanced atmospheric dispersion modelling services using AERMOD View, a leading tool developed by Lakes Environmental. Through this software, we simulate the dispersion of air pollutants from single or multiple emission sources with high accuracy.

Dispersion modelling is a key step in the environmental permitting process and an effective approach for designing mitigation and reduction strategies. We work with clients across diverse sectorsโ€”including fuel stations, energy facilities, and large-scale infrastructure projects such as highway constructionโ€”to deliver robust, science-based assessments that support regulatory compliance, safeguard public health, and promote sustainable development.

By integrating advanced modelling tools into our services, we help clients minimize risks, optimize costs, and achieve better results.

EIA Completed for Palodia Masterplan: Project Moves to Next Stage

We are pleased to announce the completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study for a Masterplan in Palodia, along with the issuance of a positive Environmental Opinion by the competent authorities.

The study was conducted to ensure the environmental sustainability of the development, taking into account the unique characteristics of the area's natural and human-made environment.

In addition to the EIA, our team prepared specialized supporting studies, including a Carbon Footprint Assessment, Landscape Character Assessment, and Traffic Impact Assessment. These studies strengthened the project documentation and played a key role in the comprehensive evaluation of environmental, visual, and traffic impacts, as well as in identifying suitable prevention and mitigation measures.

With the positive environmental opinion secured, the project is now ready to move forward to the next stage of the permitting process, in alignment with the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

A Meaningful Dialogue on the Future of Nicosia City Center

As part of its ongoing commitment to revitalizing and strengthening the urban core, the Municipality of Nicosia hosted a pivotal visit from a distinguished six-member delegation of The Academy of Urbanism (UK) between September 10โ€“12, 2025. The visit marked the launch of a Diagnostic Study, funded by the "Nicosia โ€“ Capital of Cyprus" initiative, which aims to identify challenges and unlock new opportunities to attract more visitors to the heart of the city.

The delegation, engaged in in-depth site visits, stakeholder discussions, and high-level meetings with key ministries, setting the groundwork for informed, long-term urban development.

A key milestone of the visit was the strategic discussion held on Thursday, September 11, at the Nicosia Town Hall where local experts, among which our CEO Ms Anna Caramondani, gathered to share insights, ideas, and concerns related to the central urban area.

Key themes explored during the discussions included:
โ€ข Challenges & Opportunities โ€“ Why Nicosiaโ€™s center remains a place people love and continue to invest in.
โ€ข Economy โ€“ Steps to diversify and strengthen the urban economy for long-term resilience.
โ€ข Transport โ€“ Critical shifts needed in mobility and accessibility.
โ€ข Sustainability โ€“ How Nicosia can become a low-carbon, climate-conscious city.
โ€ข Culture & Heritage โ€“ The role of identity and history in shaping modern urban life.
โ€ข Governance โ€“ Defining the leadership and collaboration needed to drive a shared vision for the cityโ€™s future.

The insights gathered during the meeting will inform the Diagnostic Study, which will serve as a strategic compass for shaping future policies and investments in Nicosiaโ€™s urban center. The study will provide a roadmap toward a more vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable city.

Preliminary Screening Services for Utility-Scale Solar Projects

At ALA Planning Partnership, we provide preliminary screening services to help PV developers make informed, low-risk decisions from the earliest stages of project planning. Our expertise ensures that utility-scale solar projects are technically feasible, environmentally responsible, and aligned with planning and permitting requirements.

Most recently, we carried out a number of preliminary screening studies on behalf of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and Abio Power for the development of new photovoltaic parks.

The study included:
Land suitability analysis โ€“ topography, access, and planning zones
Identification of environmental and permitting constraints โ€“ including protected areas, geological suitability, and special land uses
Assessment of grid connection potential โ€“ based on substation location and capacity

Early screenings like this are key to de-risking projects and accelerating development timelines.

The studies were carried out for the following administrative areas:
Municipality of Limassol
Municipality of Nicosia
Municipality of Strovolos
Solea โ€“ Marathasa Cluster
As part of the process, our Project team held public meetings with local municipalities and communities to collect first-hand information and better understand each area's waste management needs.
These studies evaluate the feasibility of the PAYT scheme, its economic and environmental impact, and its potential to enhance rational waste management and sustainable development at the local level.
๐Ÿ“„ All completed studies are available for public access, ensuring full transparency across participating municipalities and communities:
