Proud to support WISTA Cyprus in helping maritime professionals explore how AI can be applied practically and responsibly in their everyday work.

This week, TKI’s Monica Ioannidou Polemitis led the “Working Smarter with AI” session, moving beyond the hype to focus on the questions that matter in practice: where AI can genuinely add value, what should be automated, what still requires human judgement, and how data, workflow, risk and oversight shape what is actually possible.

A highly engaged group, real maritime use cases and some very good discussions.

On Monday, we came together for a practical and thought-provoking afternoon on “Working Smarter with AI”, led by Monica Ioannidou Polemitis.

What made the session particularly valuable was that it wasn’t really about AI for the sake of AI. It was about looking at the work we already do and asking better questions: Where can AI genuinely help? What should we automate? What still needs human judgement? And where does it simply not make sense to use AI?

Through demonstrations, discussion and hands-on exercises, we explored real workplace examples and thought about how AI could become part of everyday workflows.

Perhaps most importantly, we had the opportunity to bring our own challenges from across the maritime sector into the conversation and consider whether AI was actually the right solution — taking into account data, feasibility, risk, workflow and the role of human oversight.

A big thank you to Monica for making a complex and fast-moving topic approachable, practical and relevant to our everyday work, and to everyone who joined, shared experiences and asked the difficult questions.

We left with plenty to think about — and, hopefully, a few things to try when we’re back at our desks.

🎉 A special evening for TKI at the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Middle East & Cyprus 2026 Awards Ceremony!

TKI received recognition in two categories: Rising Star and Women in Leadership.

The Rising Star recognition is particularly meaningful for a company still early in its journey. We are growing across markets, building our capabilities and staying focused on what matters most, helping organisations turn AI, data and technology into something practical, useful and measurable.

The Women in Leadership recognition also made the evening particularly special. Technology is still a sector where we need more women building companies, leading teams and helping shape what comes next.

Milestones like this reflect the work of the wider TKI team, the ideas, the problem solving, the client conversations, the deployments, and the determination to keep raising the bar.

🇺🇸🇨🇾 Honoured to attend the 4th of July celebrations hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus earlier this week.

This year’s celebration had a special energy, marking Freedom 250 and bringing together people from across diplomacy, business, government and civil society.

The evening was a reminder of the strong and evolving relationship between Cyprus and the United States. A relationship built on shared democratic values, but also, increasingly on collaboration in innovation, security, entrepreneurship, education and regional stability.

Thank you to the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus for a memorable evening.

We believe that giving back means sharing practical knowledge where it can create real value.

We were very pleased to contribute to the MIEEK Programme of Studies in Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies through a specialised seminar on artificial intelligence and its applications in research, learning, and knowledge organisation.

A warm thank you to the MIEEK team and especially Ms Lina Ellina for the excellent collaboration, coordination, and trust. Thank you also to the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry for highlighting this activity in its newsletter.

🚢 💡Key insights from our Changing the Tide Event held in Athens on 28 May

AI readiness is not one thing. It is a sequence.

Before companies move into advanced AI, autonomous workflows, or agentic decision-making, they need the basics in place: reliable systems, connected data, clear governance, and an analytics layer that people actually trust.

We spoke about the common mistake many organisations make, treating AI as a technology purchase rather than an operating model shift. In many sectors, decisions are complex, data sits across many systems, and the cost of poor information can be very real.

The key message was simple: the future is not more dashboards. The future is better decisions.

That means moving from fragmented reporting to trusted intelligence across operations, finance, crew, vessels, risk, and commercial performance.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaged discussion. These are exactly the conversations we need to be having now, before AI moves from experimentation into core business ex*****on.

We were pleased to participate in the “Meet the Maritime Tech & Investment Landscape” event in Athens on the 29th of May.

The discussion reflected what many shipping companies are facing right now. Decisions around AI and digital transformation are already being made, yet many organisations are still building the internal fluency needed to assess solutions, understand the risks, govern their use, and lead their people through the change.

For us, this is exactly where the real work begins.

AI in maritime is not only a technology conversation. It is an operational, financial, geopolitical and human conversation. It affects how decisions are made, how risk is managed, how teams work, and how organisations prepare for a future where technology will increasingly sit at the centre of business performance.

What made this event especially valuable was its open, symposium-style format. The conversation moved beyond polished presentations and allowed for direct exchange between experts, investors, maritime leaders and the audience. That is where meaningful insight happens.

Thank you to the organisers for bringing this conversation together, and to everyone who contributed to such an open and insightful exchange.

We look forward to continuing the dialogue with maritime leaders who are ready to move from AI curiosity to AI readiness.

🛳️When we first thought about hosting an event in Athens, the idea was simple: bring together a small group of senior shipping executives for an open conversation about where technology, data, and AI are taking the shipping industry.

Today, we did exactly that.

A sincere thank you to everyone who made time in an exceptionally busy time, with so many Posidonia related events taking place, to join us, share your perspectives, and engage so openly.

Tom and Monica will be in Athens until 3 June. It would be a pleasure to catch up with clients, partners, and industry colleagues while they are here.
