Peter Anders Hvass is Co-Founder of Cyprus Comic Con and Chief Technology Officer at Freyia Labs. A graduate of Imperial College London, where he obtained an MEng in Computing, Peter began his career as a software engineer before moving into senior leadership roles spanning technology, operations, marketing, finance and strategy. In 2013, seeking to create something of their own, five friends — Peter, Chris, Chip, Neo and Helen — founded Cyprus Comic Con. What began as a passion project between friends has since grown into one of the largest cultural events in Cyprus and the wider region, welcoming more than 30,000 visitors each year across over 10,000 square metres of venue space. Together, they have nurtured their “baby” into a platform that supports hundreds of artists, performers and creators, attracts international guests and major sponsors, and brings thousands of overseas visitors to the island. One of Peter’s favourite aspects of the event has been expanding the convention’s special guest and live music line-ups, with several international guests returning year after year as much-loved friends and ambassadors of the community. His responsibilities include guest and partner outreach, public relations, digital marketing, technology and systems, strategic direction, and helping to shape the community-focused ethos at the heart of Cyprus Comic Con.

Last month, Vas Joseph, CPO and Co-Founder, returned to UCLan Cyprus to once again be part of the MBA journey, invited by Moyses Moyseos, lecturer of the entrepreneurship course.

We try to stay close to the communities around us and contribute where we can. It is always a privilege to share time, ideas, and energy with the people who value it and benefit from it.

Freyia Labs attended the EU Advanced Fermentation Conference today, hosted by the European Commission.🇪🇺

Our CEO Greta Skemaite represented our team on site, following discussions on the future of advanced fermentation in Europe, including scale up pathways, SME participation, and evolving regulatory and market frameworks.

The event brought together policymakers, researchers, startups, and industry to align on how fermentation technologies can strengthen European competitiveness and support a more sustainable bioeconomy.
