Here on this page will be demonstrated the results of excavations and research outputs, mostly from the South Bohemian region, Czech Republic. Let’s find out together how the presence of individual armies, was reflected in the archaeological record. student of conflict archaeology during his study at Faculty of Philosophy of the University of South Bohemia. The research wa

s started in 2016 with the author specialization on the conflict archeology of 20 century, focused on pow camps and World War 2 sites. The project would like to spread information and awareness of wartime heritage in Czech Republic and is open to free discussions about the topic of World War 2 archaeology with the people and specialists all around the world. The project also including the excerpt of archives and unique short parts of some of the carried-out interviews (oral history) with local people who remembered, what happened in Czechoslovakia during the Second World War and after.

Construction workers at Paris's Orly Airport got a sudden surprise around 9:30am when earthmoving equipment unearthed a four-metre-long Renault UE tracked carrier — a WWII French Army vehicle once used to haul ammunition to the front lines. Bomb disposal specialists were called in to inspect it, but found no live ammunition inside. At Poland's Westerplatte peninsula — the very site where WWII began in 1939 — archaeologists just wrapped their 11th excavation season, unearthing over 14,000 artifacts across 18,300 feet of land, from Napoleonic musket shells to nearly 400 unexploded military munitions. The most sobering find: a bunker containing the remains of four Polish civilians, executed by German forces, identified through shell casings and bullets left behind at the scene. Archaeologists near the Hambach open-cast mine in Germany have unearthed the wreckage of a British Short Stirling Mk III bomber, shot down on July 31, 1943 — with four crew members still officially listed as missing 82 years later. Recovered debris includes engine parts, a shoe sole, uniform remnants, a cigarette case, and human bones now awaiting DNA analysis to finally identify the fallen airmen. The finds will be exhibited at the LVR State Museum in Bonn, giving these young soldiers' stories a long-overdue tribute.
