Exciting News from IPK Gatersleben!

We are pleased to announce the successful installation and training of two new FluorCam FC 1300-C/2020 systems equipped with 12 Mpx cameras at IPK Gatersleben, Germany.

The new systems feature removable transillumination shelves, enabling high-resolution black-and-white imaging of studied samples, including roots and other plant structures. The shelf can be easily inserted into or removed from the imaging chamber, providing maximum flexibility for different experimental setups.

The transillumination shelf set includes:

✔️ A transillumination light
✔️ A positioning shelf with an opening for precise sample placement
✔️ Transparent trays for convenient sample handling
✔️ Quick and easy installation and removal of the shelves as needed

These upgrades will support advanced studies in plant physiology and morphology, enabling detailed analysis of tiny plant structures.

We thank the IPK team for the excellent collaboration and look forward to seeing the scientific results generated with these new systems.

Last week, we completed the training and final handover of a customized PlantScreen™ Mini System designed for chlorophyll fluorescence and RGB imaging of Petri dishes and small plants.

While online training is not always the preferred option for complex phenotyping systems, in this case it could not have gone much better. The users were highly proactive, engaged, and quick to learn. Thanks to their enthusiasm and dedication, they progressed from first-time users to confident operators within just a few days. We hope this system will contribute to many exciting discoveries at the University of Oslo in the years to come.

The delivered solution consists of two light-isolated imaging boxes with adjustable shelves, allowing adaptation to different sample heights. Each box operates as an independent measurement station:

🔬 Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging Unit

Equipped with an Advanced Multi-Excitation Module
High-resolution 12 MP CMOS camera
Suitable for chlorophyll fluorescence measurements as well as detection of weak steady-state fluorescence signals requiring long integration times

🌱 RGB Morphometric Imaging Unit

Equipped with top illumination for epi-illumination and a removable light shelf for transillumination
Enables precise analysis of plant morphology, growth dynamics, leaf area, color traits, and root or tissue structures in transparent samples
Particularly useful for imaging seedlings, Petri dish experiments, and other small plant materials where both reflected and transmitted light provide valuable information

A big thank you to the research team for the excellent collaboration and for making the online training such a success.

🌱We were pleased to deliver two training sessions over the past month for the newly installed PlantScreen™ Modular system at Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute (IHAR) in Bonin, Poland.

The installation was carried out in cooperation with our distributor, Merazet S.A., once again confirming our strong and successful collaboration.🤝

The installed system features a growth buffer capacity of 161 trays and an advanced imaging section including multispectral fluorescence imaging, RGB-based morphological imaging, 3D laser scanning, and two hyperspectral cameras covering the spectral range of 350–1700 nm. Users can also benefit from an integrated weighing and watering station, suitable for medium to large plants.

We truly enjoyed the training sessions and would like to wish all users many successful experiments and exciting scientific discoveries with their new system. 🔬🍀

A great memory from our training and installation at CNR IPSP in Portici, Italy — where technology meets plant science 🌱

As part of this collaboration, we successfully installed a growth capsule equipped with the XY Sensor-to-Plant phenotyping system, designed for advanced, non-invasive plant monitoring under highly controlled environmental conditions.

One of the key features of the platform is its two independently controlled compartments, allowing researchers to run parallel experiments under different environmental scenarios — opening exciting possibilities for studying plant responses and stress adaptation.

The phenotyping setup includes:
🌱 A standalone RGB imaging unit for monitoring plant growth and morphology
🌱 A combined chlorophyll imaging + RGB unit, enabling deeper insights into plant physiological performance

A rewarding experience combining technology, collaboration, and plant science — excited to see the experiments and discoveries this platform will make possible.

A new Multi-Cultivator MC 1000-OD MIX has been successfully installed and commissioned, followed by user training.

The system is designed for high-throughput cultivation and screening of algae, cyanobacteria, plant cells, and other microorganisms. Its unique MIX illumination technology enables users to create customized light spectra using up to 8 independently controlled LED colors in each cultivation slot.

With fully software-controlled protocols, online growth monitoring, and flexible cultivation strategies, the Multi-Cultivator provides a powerful platform for cultivation optimization, screening experiments, and physiological studies.

Thank you for the warm welcome and excellent cooperation. We wish you many successful experiments and exciting results with your new system.

User training for the Growth Capsule with the XY Robotic PlantScreen™ system successfully completed 🌱🚀

Last week, our team spent several inspiring days at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Seibersdorf, where we carried out installation, commissioning, and user training for scientists working with our advanced plant phenotyping technologies 🔬

The installation included integration of the XY Robotic PlantScreen™ phenotyping platform into the dynamic Growth Capsule cultivation environment, together with several customized large walk-in chambers designed for research under controlled environmental conditions.

It was particularly interesting to see the wide range of in vitro cultivated plant species studied at the facility — including exotic crops such as banana and coffee — and to discuss future opportunities for automated plant phenotyping in crop research and stress physiology 🌿

We would like to thank the entire IAEA team for the excellent collaboration and professional approach throughout the training.
