Hi everyone,
This is Alex from Tactile Tone Electronics — the audio amplifier company. Welcome to our very first monthly report, where I’d like to share what we’ve been working on at Tactile Tone.
Since our sales launch, we’ve shipped the first units and continue building up our stock of preamplifiers. I didn’t expect such strong interest in the first month, and selling more than two units is a solid start. Even better, we’ve had no returns so far. I really appreciate the trust and support our first customers have shown us! The most common request from customers has been for a power amplifier, so that’s now our main focus.

Power Amplifier Development
I’ve begun work on our first power amplifier. The target specs are 200 W per channel at 4 Ohms, class B operation, and THD+N below 0.1% at 20 kHz under full load. It will likely share the same enclosure as our preamplifier, but with redesigned front and rear panels.

The front panel will feature mechanical power meters and fault indicators. It will support two pairs of speakers, with both balanced and unbalanced inputs. I’m also considering a dual-mono design, where the two channels are completely independent. We’ve already spent a good amount of time on circuit simulations.

To keep things modern, I’m designing a custom amplifier module. Today’s operational amplifiers perform so well that they can generate less noise than many passive components — even electrolytic or polyester capacitors. For that reason, the new design will drive the output devices using op-amps and extensive negative feedback. This approach helps avoid many of the classic issues found in class B/AB amplifiers over the past 50 years.

So far, the simulations look promising: 0.005% THD at 20 kHz into 4 Ohms at 184.7 W, and 0.0026% THD at 92.5 W into 8 Ohms. The distortion is even lower at 1 kHz. The next step is to validate these results on real models and start prototyping the modules.

Preamplifier Production
We’re currently finishing three more preamplifiers before taking a short production break until the new year. During this period, we’ll focus on the next preamplifier version — improving resistance to both internal and external interference, further reducing crosstalk, and refining our production engineering to lower cost and assembly time.

I’m also planning to move enclosure production to the Czech Republic, which will not only reduce costs but also give us full control over the visual quality and finish of the parts.

Production doesn’t always go perfectly, so if you’re interested in discounted units, feel free to reach out at [email protected].

Have a great day,
Alex
