Here is why it is important to mark your mailbox with your name as soon as you move into a new apartment.

🇨🇿 Co se stane, pokud si nepřevezmete doporučený dopis od Ministerstva vnitra?

📬 Pokud nebudete na své adrese zastiženi, bude dopis uložen na poště po dobu následujících 10 dnů. Ve vaší schránce najdete výzvu k vyzvednutí zásilky na poště. Pokud zásilku v této lhůtě nepřevezmete, bude vám jako adresátovi vhozena do schránky.

🏛️ Pokud se dopis vrátí zpět na ministerstvo (např. z důvodu neoznačené schránky, nebo pokud jde o dopis s červeným pruhem), zveřejní se oznámení o možnosti převzít zásilku na veřejné vyhlášce. Najdete ji online zde: https://mv.gov.cz/verejne-vyhlasky-oamp.aspx

⌛ Odkdy se počítá den doručení?
V případě uložení na poště se za den doručení písemnosti považuje 10. den po uložení (den uložení se do těchto 10 dnů nezapočítává). V případě veřejné vyhlášky je to 15. den po vyvěšení fyzické formy veřejné vyhlášky.

🇬🇧 What happens if you do not collect a registered letter from the Ministry of the Interior?

📬 If you are not reached at your address, the letter will be stored at the post office for the following 10 days. You will find a notice in your mailbox asking you to collect the item at the post office. If you do not collect the item within this period, it will be placed in your mailbox.

🏛️ If the letter is returned to the ministry (for example, because the mailbox is not properly marked, or if it is a letter marked with a red stripe), a notice that you can collect the item will be published on the public notice board. ⌛ From when is the delivery date counted?
If the letter is stored at the post office, the delivery date is considered to be the 10th day after it was stored (the day of storage is not counted in these 10 days). In the case of a public notice, it is the 15th day after the physical notice was posted.

✅ V osobním profilu stačí zadat číslo jednací vaší žádosti.
✅ Jakmile dojde ke změně stavu řízení, obdržíte upozornění e-mailem.

Díky této funkci budete mít přehled o průběhu řízení bez nutnosti hlídat stav žádosti ručně.

🇨🇿 Léto, prázdniny a čas dovolených se blíží. Pokud plánujete dovolenou v zahraničí, nezapomeňte na několik základních pravidel.

📕 Při každé cestě mějte u sebe cestovní pas a povolení k pobytu. Ujistěte se, že vašemu pasu nekončí platnost. Některé státy vyžadují pro vstup minimální dobu platnosti.

🇪🇺 Máte-li v Česku jako občan třetí země udělené dlouhodobé vízum, dlouhodobý nebo trvalý pobyt, můžete cestovat i v rámci schengenského prostoru. Celková doba pobytu v ostatních státech Schengenu však nesmí překročit 90 dnů během jakýchkoli 180 dnů.

🗺 Pokud cestujete mimo Schengen, doporučujeme si předem ověřit vstupní podmínky cílové země. České povolení k pobytu vás neopravňuje ke vstupu do zemí mimo Schengen. V případě víza si zkontrolujte, zda umožňuje opakovaný vstup – tedy návrat do Schengenu.

⏳ Pokud vám skončila platnost současného pobytového oprávnění a žádost o prodloužení je stále v řízení, můžete si pro účely cestování požádat o tzv. překlenovací štítek.

🚑 Dobrou volbou je také vždy si před cestou sjednat cestovní zdravotní pojištění.

🇬🇧 Summer, holidays, and vacation time are approaching. If you’re planning a trip abroad, don’t forget a few essential rules.

📕 Always carry your passport and residence permit when travelling. Make sure your passport is still valid – some countries require a minimum validity period for entry.

🇪🇺 If you are a third-country national residing in Czechia with a long-term visa, long-term residence permit, or permanent residence permit, you may also travel within the Schengen Area. However, your total stay in other Schengen countries must not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.

🗺 If you’re travelling outside the Schengen Area, we recommend checking the entry conditions of your destination country in advance. A Czech residence permit does not entitle you to enter non-Schengen countries. If you hold a visa, check whether it allows multiple entries – that is, whether you can return to the Schengen Area.

⏳ If your current residence permit has expired and your application for extension is still being processed, you can apply for a so-called bridging visa for travel purposes.

🚑 It’s also a good idea to arrange travel health insurance before you go.

Lately, the Ministry has started observing closely whether applicants have been fulfilling the purpose of their stay and not doing so leads to rejections of applications.

Act fast once you stop fulfilling the purpose for which your visa was granted. The fact that the Ministry doesn't notice during the validity of your visa doesn't mean they will not look into it when you apply for extension/some other visa type at the end of the validity.

I am not very good at networking as I consider myself an introvert, which is why I often am avoiding such events.

As .monagas told me during the Impact Dinner recently, one should not label oneself as an introvert/extrovert, as there surely are situations and environments in which we are acting in various ways, and that resonated with me so much! Just few days later, I presented in front of 30 students and boy, didn't I enjoy that to the fullest! The more questions students asked the more energized I felt for being able to answer them.

So here is to not placing ourselves to certain boxes and keeping our mind open for any opportunity that comes to our lives!

The minimum salary for Blue cards will be raised to 69 247 CZK as of May 1, 2025.

This applies to new applicants as well as those holding Blue cards already as if this requirement will not be met during extension process, the application will not be successful!

Ukrainian nationals visa extension initiated.

• Temporary protection (D/DO visa code) visa extension is done online - one must register at ipc.gov.cz to show interest in the extension. At the end of the registration, it is possible to book a slot to collect a new extended visa sticker.

• Those holding Tolerance visa (D/VS/91 visa code) can simply make an appointment for the collection of the new extended visa sticker. No registration required. This is not yet possible, but should be any day now!

• In April, registration for Special long-term residency will be initiated. This special residency will be aimed for those living in the Czech Republic on the temporary protection visa for at least 2 years. Stay tuned for more information on this!

I cannot believe it has been two years since I did the thing that was scaring me so much - opened my own business.

Since september 2022 I have been helping expats with their Immigration queries under ImmiGreat. And it's been great!
