Yesterday, I saw this artwork in a gallery. And I literally froze.
I took a photo. Sent it to my teenage son: “Sometimes this is me.” He sent back a smile and a hug 😊🤗
Life has periods of complete chaos. My life after divorce. My life as a solo entrepreneur. Any moment when everything goes off-plan.
We’re imperfect. We’re hurting. We don’t know what’s next.
But beside us — our children.
Who we must protect and support. And this is the hardest part: remaining a reliable adult when you’re in complete mess yourself.
What a relief that we don’t need to be perfect parents. We can say honestly: “It’s hard for me right now. But I still love you. I’ll manage.”
By the way, noticed the two lightbulbs in the picture?
Those are eyes!
Even when we’re in chaos, even when everything’s falling apart — we still have everything we need to transmit this love.
The main thing is that these lightbulbs keep shining. Always. Our children see this light — and it’s their anchor.
Motherhood is a tangle of twigs, we’re vulnerable and imperfect. But we’re here, and the main thing is to never stop showing them our love.
That’s what I wanted to say with this photo. And I think my teenager understood 💛
