Coaching is a growing industry. According to the ICF's 2020 Global study, in 2019 there were close to 71,000 coaching practitioners (a number 33% higher than the 2015 estimate).

The growth was especially strong in the Latin American and the Caribbean region (with +174%) as well as in Eastern Europe (with +40%).

The last of the ICF's Competencies, to "Facilitate a Client's Growth" means to partner with the client to design together the objectives, actions and accountability measures to be implemented. It also supports their autonomy in such a process.

Moreover, it implies for the Coach the desire to celebrate their client's successes and progress.
