🇳🇴 On June 6, our team Zone 1 took on the Trolljegerprøven – an 8 km obstacle course through demanding terrain, packed with 30–40 challenging obstacles along the way. 🏃‍♀️

From mud baths and swimming sections to monkey swings and technical obstacles, it truly put both strength and teamwork to the test.

Thanks to an outstanding team effort, the Norway team successfully completed every single obstacle – with no penalty laps! Our BARTEC core values of and truly shone through!

A great experience, strong collaboration, and a lot of fun throughout the course. Already looking forward to the next challenge! 💪

Today we present to you the project which won the first place in the category ‘’Marketability’’ at the Kreative Köpfe Awards 2026 by Stiftung Junge Kreative Köpfe! 🥇

The students Samira Schmidt (15), Lina Schmidt (15), Jule Feser (14) under the mentorship of ’s Thomas Lede developed a sensor that measures the moisture level of plant soil and indicates when the plant needs to be watered again. 🌼

How does the project work?
‘’For this project, we designed our own circuit board that can measure soil moisture capacitively and send the data to a Wi-Fi-enabled microcontroller. The board is battery-powered and transmits the measured moisture values via Wi-Fi to a receiver, which hosts a small website. This website can be accessed via smartphone to see how dry or moist each plant is and when it needs watering’’, explains their mentor Thomas Lede.
We also thank the company “Data Modul” from Weikersheim that has helped us with 3D-printing of some parts.
