Booster vs compressor: two pieces of equipment that get lumped together and shouldn't be.

A compressor makes gas. It pulls in ambient air and compresses it for cylinder fills.
A booster doesn't make anything. It takes gas pressure that already exists, pure oxygen or helium, and pushes it to a higher pressure. One produces. One transfers.

Most dive operations working with Nitrox or technical gas need both. Knowing which does what, and when you actually need each one, is what separates a well-planned gas station from an expensive guess.

Your compressor is only as good as its filter.

New in stock: NRC replacement filter cartridges, compatible with Bauer P21, P41, P41 Securus, P61, and P61 Securus Filter-systems.

A high-pressure breathing air compressor needs its air purified before it reaches a tank: moisture and oil v***r have to come out. That's what the cartridge does, and it's not a part to guess on. The wrong fit or a worn-out fill affects the air your divers actually breathe.

These are built in Germany, filled with molecular sieve and activated carbon from established suppliers.

Nitrox Myths Busted

"We're on nitrox, can we go deeper?"

Every dive operation hears this. The answer's always the same: no, actually shallower.

More oxygen means a higher safe limit but also means a lower maximum operating depth. What nitrox actually adds is time, not depth: less nitrogen means a longer no-decompression limit at the depth you're already diving. Worth building into all your briefings with Nitrox divers, right alongside reminding divers to check their own blend on the analyzer before they gear up.

Guessing costs dives. Numbers don't.
