Structured gesso filling of a paint loss in a modern oil painting: the missing part of the paint layer is remodeled with a gesso filler made of glutine glue and chalk. In a next step, the filling will be matched in color to the surrounding paint layer.

Strukturierte Kittung einer Fehlstelle in einem modernen Ölgemälde: vor der Retusche wird die Struktur des umliegenden Malschichtreliefs mit einem Leim-Kreide-Kitt imitiert.

Final steps of treatment on a beautiful painting by Emanuel Hegenbarth, professor at Dresden Academy of Fine Arts from 1903-1923. Hegenbarth taught the class of animal painting. There are parallels in painting technique and style to Max Feldbauer, the artist I graduated about. Feldbauer became professor at the academy in 1918 and had made a name as the "horse painter" (poster in the background). He was known for bringing living horses into the academy to be studied and painted by the students.
