Iris Candelaria returns as Susanna in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro on 22 October at Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, in a new production by Anna Kelo 💍💐

Conducted by James Sherlock, the cast features Vincenzo Nizzardo as Count Almaviva, Silja Aalto as the Countess, Georg Festl as Figaro and Elli Vallinoja as Cherubino.

This marks Iris’ second time in the role, following her role debut at Savonlinna Opera Festival in 2026.

Michael Borth makes his house debut as Gubetta in Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia on 18 October at the Bayerische Staatsoper, in the revival of Christof Loy’s production ✨

Paolo Arrivabeni conducts. The cast features Erwin Schrott as Don Alfonso, Angela Meade as Lucrezia Borgia, Liparit Avetisyan as Gennaro and Natalie Lewis as Maffio Orsini.

Evan LeRoy Johnson makes his house debut as Rodolfo in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème on 18 October, in the revival premiere at Oper Leipzig ✨

Friedrich Praetorius conducts. The cast features Solen Mainguené as Mimì, Samantha Gaul as Musetta, Franz Xaver Schlecht as Marcello, Frieder Flesch as Schaunard and Sejong Chang / Peter Dolinšek as Colline.

Elisabeth Freyhoff joins the Collegium Musicum Bruneck and Streicherakademie Bozen for performances of Johannes Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem on 17 and 18 October ✨

Conducted by Clau Scherrer, the concerts take place in Brixen and Bruneck.

We are delighted to welcome internationally sought-after stage director Noa Naamat to the roster of Boris Orlob Management!

Working with renowned opera houses and festivals around the world, Noa brings a distinctive artistic voice and fresh perspectives to both the classical and contemporary repertoire. Her recent work includes Verdi’s Aida at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet and Staatstheater Darmstadt, Henze’s Phaedra at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor at Staatsoperette Dresden, and Britten’s The R**e of Lucretia and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice at the Royal Danish Opera.

Her next production is Handel’s Giulio Cesare at the Beijing Music Festival on 18 October 2026, alongside the China Philharmonic Orchestra.

We look forward to this exciting collaboration and to all that lies ahead! We are delighted to welcome Noa Naamat to the roster of Boris Orlob Management and very much look forward to our collaboration.

Hartmut Haenchen conducts the second Sinfoniekonzert with Staatskapelle Halle on 11 October at Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Halle 💥

The programme opens with Siegfried Matthus’ Hallelujah 2006, followed by Dmitri Shostakovich’s monumental Symphony No. 8 in C minor, Op. 65.

The concert returns on 12 October.

Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir joins mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo and pianist and composer Hania Rani for the premiere of If I Do Not Return at Theater Basel on 11 October 🌙🕯️

Drawing on Renaissance texts by John Dowland, Hania Rani’s new work creates a mystical, installative concert performance described as a futuristic oratorio, transforming Basel’s Elisabethenkirche into a soundscape between the Elizabethan past and a distant future.

Johan Reuter jumps in as Simone for tomorrow’s performance of Alexander von Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie, in a new production by Vasily Barkhatov at the Wiener Staatsoper on 10 October 🗡️🩸

Conducted by Alain Altinoglu, the performance also features Dmitry Golovnin as Guido Bardi and Asmik Grigorian as Bianca, in a production directed by Vasily Barkhatov.

Moritz Kallenberg joins soprano Inés Lorans for an evening of arias, duets and instrumental works by Gluck, Sacchini, Salieri and Viotti on 9 October at Château de Fontainebleau 👑

Thomas Hengelbrock conducts the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra, with the programme also featuring Haydn’s Symphony No. 85, “La Reine”.

The concert returns on 11 October.

KARES VS. SCHAGER // GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG // PARIS

Mika Kares takes on the role of Hagen, following his performances as both Fafners over the past couple of years, while Andreas Schager returns as Siegfried in the premiere of Calixto Bieito’s new production of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung at the Opéra national de Paris on 8 October.

So… after playing Fafner and facing Siegfried, Mika is now Hagen. And this time, he gets to kill Andreas. 👀⚡⚔️

Pablo Heras-Casado conducts this new Ring production. The complete Ring cycle returns to Paris in November, with all four operas presented together from 6 November.

A huge toi toi toi to Mika and Andreas! 🌹🐉🔥
