☝️ As part of the Sqetch spirit, we are constantly looking to expand our horizons - we take part in multiple events that aim to empower the industry members to reach objectives related to business development, sustainability and professionalisation.

We are proud to highlight the success of the third edition of the 202030 -The Berlin Fashion Summit last month. The Summit comprised over 25 discussion panels, keynotes, critical conversations and interviews, and broadcasted to more than five thousand participants from 57 countries.

💡 The online format enabled participants from all over the world to join and observe the talks and workshops conducted by a selective list of industry experts, debating: REGENERATIVE FASHION SYSTEMS - Implement Positive Impact.

Following the Berlin Fashion Week, the edition analysed regenerative mechanisms and fashion systems from a global and local perspective and discussed possible implementation tactics in existing systems.

Daniel will talk about fundamental differences in self-perceptions of cultures characterizing every European-Chinese dialogue. 🇨🇳 Common imponderables will be explained and resolved against the background of millennia-old cultural traditions of eg. Confucianism, Taoism, Legalism, or the famous 36 Stratagems.

202030 -The Berlin Fashion Summit is happening next week... Meanwhile, the world is going through turbulent times.

💡 There is a fundamental aim in the decision to keep our mission. For that reason, we'd like to share with you a message from the organisers:

"As much as we are devastated about the war in Ukraine and the endless questions about how to help there and what to feel and do here — we also deeply believe that our work is already more part of the solution than of the problem/s. And as part of a global community of activists, companies, entrepreneurs, organizations and researchers that passionately work towards a sustainable and ideally regenerative fashion industry: and believe that peace is the base for all progress and our most common goal.

Our news of the day would have been: the full program is online now.
Obviously, this is not relevant news in today’s world. But we believe that the program that we curated is generally now even more relevant and we urgently need to keep connecting the dots and people glocally to collaboratively find solutions.

So we fully understand if you are not in the mood to listen to or even discuss topics that deal with this ‘superficial’ fashion industry — but it is also one of the most globalised industries, impacting up to 430 million workers (in fashion and textile production) in mostly the global south as well as billions of consumers in the (mostly) global north.
We have decided to not cancel our summit and instead to invest even more in building the connections and knowledge that help enable better life quality for all of us on this one blue planet."

Next week, the three days of 202030 – The Berlin Fashion Summit will focus on regenerative fashion systems and implementing positive impact.

💡 Innovation and true collaboration need safe spaces and trusted door openers. Sqetch has expanded its horizons worldwide and established key partnerships for impactful collaborations. The aim is to empower the members of the industry to reach objectives related to business development, sustainability and professionalization.

👉 In February, Sqetch was honoured to join forces with Business Finland – and host the webinar Finnish – German Sustainable Textiles Virtual Speed Dating. Carefully selected innovators from Finland’s circular textiles ecosystem were matched with leading fashion and textile brands from Germany, including key e-commerce platforms, retail chains, corporate and workwear brands. Also, the participants had the opportunity to gain insights into the Finnish sustainable textiles market and the chance to meet preferred partners in 1on1 meetings.
