Celebrating RE-PtX graduates across five countries 🌍
The MENALINKS RE-PtX professional eLearning programme, “Renewable Energy Integration and Power-to-X,” has concluded with 64 successful graduates from Morocco, Tunisia, Türkiye, Jordan and Egypt.
To mark this achievement, some participants have shared contributions reflecting the value of lifelong learning and the importance of continuous professional development in the rapidly evolving energy sector.
The programme combined flexible online learning, group assignments, virtual classrooms and cross-country knowledge exchange. Through this format, participants strengthened their understanding of renewable energy integration, power system flexibility, energy storage, sector coupling, green hydrogen and Power-to-X.
The graduation video also highlights how professional training can support participants in applying new knowledge to their work, while exchange with peers from different countries can broaden perspectives and encourage collaboration across the region.
Congratulations to all 64 graduates on this important achievement!

Before the year drew to a close, we piloted an exciting new format for the German Training Week project. This time, conducted through GIZ Egypt under the Egyptian-German Joint Committee on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection (JCEE) project.
This 5-day intensive training in Cairo, Egypt, focused on energy efficiency in industry, with a special emphasis on the ceramics sector. This training brought together 36 participants from Egypt’s industrial sector, alongside distinguished guests from the Ministry of Electricity & Renewable Energy (MoERE) and key stakeholders in the ceramics industry.
Hosted at the Hilton Hotel Nile Maadi in Cairo, the training was led by our expert, Dr. Fouzi Tabet, and delivered a highly successful experience for all involved. The engagement and enthusiasm from participants have already sparked strong interest in further trainings, and we are excited to announce that more GTWs in Egypt are on the horizon!

From 14-18 September, RENAC and GIZ hosted a specialized wind energy training for 15 participants, primarily electrical teachers from TVET centres in Mongolia. The training brought together educators from Nalaikh Polytechnic College and Darkhan Polytechnic College, as well as representatives from the Clean Energy Association (CEA) and private sector companies, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening technical capacities in the field of wind energy.
Led by trainer Mathias Hoelzer, the program focused on equipping TVET trainers with practical skills to support the sustainable development of Mongolia’s renewable energy sector. The project was directed by Emilienne Tingwey.
We were pleased to contribute to this important initiative, empowering educators to train the next generation of renewable energy professionals in Mongolia! 🇲🇳🌱

We’ve just concluded the latest Green Energy Finance Specialist – Small scale projects seminars – this time in Nairobi and Johannesburg!
Over three days, the Green Energy Finance Specialist – Small scale projects seminars gave finance professionals concrete methods, case-based practice, and peer feedback to turn climate ambition into real, bankable deals.
Key takeaways:
• Practical exposure to real world RE and EE use cases, viewed from a bankability and investment perspective.
• Insights from guest expert input on current trends and challenges in clean energy investment.
• Reflection on lessons learnt and definition of practical next steps for participants’ own institutions and pipelines.

From the 7th to 9th of October, Dr. Christian Neugebauer represented RENAC in at Windergy India.
But what happened during those 3 days?
The 4th Indo-German Roundtable on R&D Cooperation in Offshore Wind Energy brought together around 50 stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
Which topics were discussed?
- Wind-resource assessment
- Testing and certification
- Technology adaptation to cyclone conditions
- Local supply chain development
And why?
The goal was to define the key areas for offshore wind energy cooperation between India and Germany.
A second workshop, “European Offshore Wind Learnings for Indian Market Development,” supported by the European Union, explored which European approaches could support India’s offshore wind development, and which lessons should not be repeated.
We are excited to see what comes next for Indian and German institutions and companies!
All the activities were implemented by Renewables Academy (RENAC), German Offshore Wind Energy Foundation (Stiftung OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE), Deutsche WindGuard and Grant Thornton Bharat LLP on behalf of GIZ India. The projects are supported by the federal ministries from India and Germany, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ).

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮, a new cohort of finance professionals is now equipped to back the energy transition.
The 3-day Green Energy Finance Specialist – Small-scale Projects seminars in Vietnam and Indonesia, conducted by our RE expert Salem Kadi, have just concluded, bringing together banks, trainers, and experts to turn climate ambition into real investment.
Participants dove into green energy markets, financial analysis and due diligence, and the IFC Performance Standards — learning how to assess and structure small-scale renewable energy and energy efficiency projects from the ground up.
Congratulations to our 13 participants in Vietnam and 15 in Indonesia — you are now one step closer to shaping the future of green finance in your countries.
