MANDOLEO 11
I wanted to build this scale for a long long time but...I only now have made it.
Its a custom scale that I dont know if it already exists (besides the Omana that I custom ordered in 2017), so I have called it Mandoleo.
As you can guess by its name, its based on the Onoleo scale but with some changes and additions.
The Eb4 on the Onoleo has always disturbed me and I never really connected with that "jumping" note so I decided to remove it and add a D5 instead.
Additionally I added a C #4 and a D4 on the bottom, which in my opinion fits perfectly!
Im super happy with the end result but, have already plans to build another one, adding a couple of more notes at the bottom....some that will complement what is for me a very expressive scale...carries lots of emotion.
Its a bid sad and nostalgic but at the same time has something mysterious on it which captivates me a lot.
I also realized that the current layout gave me some issues in terms of interference related with F #5, which is a trouble note on 53cm Diameter pans. 3 notes on the right side share same frequency...will very likely be needed to flip some of those in order to avoid those issues.
As usual, all the feedback is very welcome! I thank you for that!
🙏
What I played was of course just a short improvisation and unfortunately I cant explore it further cause, its gone now to a very happy person but... its a motivation to do the next one.
Ps: If someone has already seen this scale please drop a link on the comments. ;)
