Organized Retail Crime in Europe: LP Magazine brings it to the point: "Whereas in the United States there is a move to recognize the issue nationally, no such uniformity exists in Europe(...). Firstly, there is no definition of ORC. Further, the police forces are not connected and generally do not share the kind of intelligence that could link the wider impact or highlight its complexity and sophistication."

Organized Retail Crime ( ) is globally on the rise. In the UK financial losses caused by costumer theft reached with £613 million a 10-year high in 2015 as the British Retail Consortium published in their latest Retail Crime Survey. In the USA poses a $30 billion-dollar problem annually according to the National Retail Federation. Also in Germany is responsible for a big financial loss in the retail industry. According to the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) goods worth EUR 500 million were stolen in 2015. Moreover it is expected that the number of unreported cases is substantially higher. So which strategies are the best to face this problem in the most effective way possible?

What is needed:

- A Loss Prevention System that exposes unusual consumer behavior directly at the Point of Sale as soon as it happens.
- A Loss Prevention System that allows “prevention through service” as a first step in deterring thieves.
- A Loss Prevention System that still guarantees a comfortable shopping experience for costumers while having all the products safely secured.
