Growing up I was the oldest of my cousins on both sides of the family, so I had the chance to not only snuggle all my baby cousins, but to also watch and learn from my mom, aunts, and grandmothers how to care for newborns and toddlers. My parents also blessed me with the gift of raising us kids on a farm in rural Minnesota. When I turned 11 I decided that buying and training my own horse would be
a great adventure, so I set off babysitting for the families in our neighborhood to earn the money. Through high school and college I had a steady flow of families who relied on me for date nights, homework help, summer care, cleaning, and organizing. As I grew older my love for childcare and adventure sprouted into searching for opportunities to merge the two. I was blessed to have found a family that hired me as their au pair (live-in nanny) in Wilmington, NC and again a few years later in Hannover, Germany. Between nanny and au pair positions, I have worked in a variety of other settings. I have had the opportunity to work in restaurants, weddings/banquets, as a personal assistant to a fashion designer, onboard a private yacht as a stewardess, and as an assistant to a real estate team. Working in a wide range of situations has taught me that no matter what the position, there is always one requirement: hard work. I have now put my love for families and hard work together to start my journey as a doula. I believe well bonded, happy, secure families are such a crucial resource to building a bright future. The best way for families to thrive is for them to feel loved, supported, and encouraged through their transition and adjustment to their growing family. Being a certified postpartum doula I offer a wide range of support which focus on this vital time in the family’s home. The concentration of care is not solely on the newborn, but more so on supporting the mother and her needs so she can provide her energy and attention to baby. Be it meal prep, light housekeeping and laundry, watching older siblings, overnight support, infant care, or anything in between, I am your can-do doula!
