During a recent business trip to Trinidad, our Director Sales Peter Schulte had the opportunity to meet with, among others, the producer of the world-renowned “Angostura Bitters.”

In addition to gaining valuable insights into the brand’s rich heritage and production processes, the visit centered on meaningful exchange and the strengthening of relationships.
Encounters like these highlight the importance of face-to-face dialogue in building resilient partnerships and unlocking new perspectives.

On this occasion, Peter also extended his congratulations on behalf of the thenex family to the newly appointed CEO, Mr. Ian Forbes, and presented him with the 125-year anniversary chronicle of thenex GmbH as a token of appreciation.

We are confident that Ian Forbes is the right person for this role and will serve as an inspiring driving force for one of the most iconic rum distilleries in the region.

We had the pleasure of attending SOLIDS & Recycling Dortmund 2026 on March 19 – one of the leading trade fairs for powder, granules, and bulk solids.

Across four exhibition halls, companies showcased both cutting-edge innovations and proven technologies for the bulk solids, process, and recycling industries. A particular highlight this year was the new “Process Automation” special area, reflecting the growing importance of smart, connected production environments.

Key topics of the trade fair included:
• Fire & explosion protection
• Maintenance & wear protection
• Sustainability & recycling
• Process automation & artificial intelligence (AI)

The diversity of applications on display was impressive, covering industries such as:
construction materials, chemicals, recycling, wood, manufacturing, food & feed, glass & ceramics, cosmetics, metals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, mining, and plastics.
Our colleagues Peter Schulte, Robin Volmering, and Yannick Schroer explored key focus areas of the exhibition and engaged in numerous insightful discussions with manufacturers and solution providers.

Topics ranged from:

• Silo and storage discharge technologies

Over the past days I had the chance to travel through Cairo, Suez and Alexandria and finally meet some of our customers in person.

We had great conversations, visited a few impressive facilities, and it was really interesting to see some of the projects and industries we work with every day.

But the trip wasn’t only about business — Egypt also showed its beautiful side:
amazing weather, incredible sunsets, and a traditional Arabic dinner right next to the Nile.
Moments like these remind me that business is not just about products and shipments — it’s about people, relationships, and shared experiences.

🌍 TAR Preparation Around the Globe:
A Success Story in the Caribbean

thenex GmbH, in close collaboration with recently supported a valued customer in preparing for a critical plant shutdown (TAR – Turnaround).
To ensure the highest level of safety and precision during maintenance of two critical 16” high-pressure steam isolating valves, thenex GmbH coordinated the deployment of an experienced PERSTA technician directly to the Caribbean site.

💡 Hands-On Training with Impact
The training was conducted using an identical spare valve, allowing for practical, effective, and interactive learning. The PERSTA expert, bringing over 30 years of field service experience, guided the customer’s team and subcontractors through the complex valve maintenance process.
Throughout the sessions, he shared a wealth of knowledge, offering valuable recommendations, tips, tricks, and best practices — empowering the local team to approach future maintenance with greater precision and efficiency.
