11 ½ Jahre onliveline ...

What a year of transformation & focus.
What a year of enjoyment & collaboration.
What a year to come to an end, with a bit of time for reflection.

We wish you all a wonderful Christmas in the circle of your families - or if not, somewhere where you love it. Let's enjoy, eat, dring, think - or just don't think for a while 😊

Looking forward to the next year, the year of the snake >> The animal of transformation!
Have a wonderful "slide into it".
See you on the other side!

how to …
… tell stories with AI.

You have probably by now heard or read about Yuuki, and how together with Takeda, we “use” this 3D character to take the company along learning about AI tools, reflecting about ethics, learning from each other, collaboration and pushing the necessary innovation culture.
Yuuki is damn cool.
So, to fully connect her with AI, is not possible right now. She would lose her character.
BUT: we are working on that! And make incredible progress!!! :-)
Because it is necessary to connect these kinds of characters with AI fully, since sometimes scalability is a requirement. Or to switch between AI and human interaction, would be very helpful.
That is why we are diligently working on connecting the characters with AI. We train the LLMs. We work with a voice from an “actor”, so that we can switch back and forth between live and AI. And we work with body-tracked movements that get triggered by AI. We are making really good progress right now and are truly excited!!!
It’s so wonderful seeing how we can collaboratively create stories that take us all along through this complex transformative world – and bring the AIs as a true discussion partner to the table.

If you are also working on something similar, let’s exchange :-)
And if you just simply are interested and want to talk about it, let us know. We love talking about storytelling and (AI)tech! :-)

how to ...
.. speak about Storytelling and AI :Arena

two weeks ago, we gave a workshop on storytelling and AI at the KI:Arena. One of the central questions when speaking about digital transformation these days is, how to teach AI tools while at the same time reflect about ethics, decision making, learning from each other and driving innovation culture. So basically the connection of it all ;-)

Our workshop was mainly about how to use digital avatars effectively in digital transformation & collaborative communication. Central questions were:

How to teach AI-tools most effectively? (it’s less about teaching and more about learning...)
Can we teach AI-tools, while at the same time talking about ethics, values, collaboration and innovation culture? (we believe so.)
Why and when do company employees accept them? (when they are fun and a collaborative story)
Are there any inhibitions? (probably. when it’s done badly? ;-))
Why do our avatars often look stylistically like characters from a game and why we decide against lifelike design? (because we allow them to be a little outside the common behavioral scope, so they open a space for brave behavior.)
What stories our avatars tell and why storytelling through our characters works?

It was a valuable exchange and great fun!!!
Many thanks to the KI:Arena for the invitation and to all participants!

Like every year, we had our Christmas party last week! With sitting together, writing post cards, drinking a bit too much Glühwein ;-), telling each other stories of the year and exchanging presents. Ah - and pizza! 😊

This year it was special.
And we thank every one for a wonderful, reflective, and emotional team party!

18awards with 27Names - our European live-communication network

With many of our members of the 27names community we have been in Rome at the BeaWorld last week. While we as onliveline won Gold with Takedas Yuuki for best use of AI, with all members of the 27Names team, we won 18 awards in total in a year dominated by Paris 2024 activations!!!

SUN Event is taking 2 Gold Awards home, beon, Endorfina, Fieldwork, Next Group and onliveline each won 1x Gold.
Fieldwork and XSAGA both carry 2 Silver Awards and our new member SponsorKing as well as Next Group and Magic Garden celebrate one Silver Award each.
Finally, beon takes 3 Bronze Awards to Spain and SponsorKing wins one Bronze Award.

After 19 awards last year, 18 awards confirm our proposition being the community of Europe’s best independent live-experience agencies in an impressive way. Congratulations to you all in quite a tough competition this year.

But that’s not all: having BEA president Salvatore talking about 27Names as the community of Europe’s best independent live-experience agencies in front of 400 attendees when introducing our 27Minutes session with Thierry Reboul has been a moment to remember. 😊

Looking foreward meeting everyone in Zurich in January.

for Best Use of AI at the
for Yuuki and the escape room.

This week was a very vivid week for Yuuki*. First she had a presentation as a keynote speaker at the Change Congress of the Handelsblatt, and then she was shortlisted for BeaWorld Awards in Rome. A true honor was, that she was also nominated from the Press Jury (but winning against the Opening Ceremony of Olympia was not possible :-) Congrats!!!)!

BUT: We won GOLD in the category of best usage of AI !!!
And we are so incredibly proud and thrilled and happy!!!

Thanks to the entire Takeda Team: Sabine Mpacko, Gudrun Sieger, Rüdiger Seibold, Inna Dimant, Orly Bar, Stefanie Chamberlain, uvm
and my team: Alexandra Tamayo, Alena Hermes, Jorma Wagner, Lisa Pirron, Excit3D, Matt Flores, Sanket Das & Ahbi

I love telling the story of Yuuki and seeing how people react and join into the story. With Yuuki we don’t just drive the transformation of digitalization and AI at Takeda, but we open up the possibility for a collaborative storytelling. A storytelling that enhances the way we work, collaborate, innovate and use AI.

The medium is the message!

Also, I was giving a speech at the BeaWorld festival about strategic and collaborative storytelling together with Henry Coutinho-Mason. A wonderful inspiration. ( - let’s definitely stay in touch!!!)

*For all of you, who don’t know who Yuuki is: She is a 3D character who connected her brain with AI in order to bring more ethics into AI. She is an employee of Takeda Germany. As an expert of AI, she teaches AI with an escape room as well as tea rooms, espresso meetings, onboardings and simple interaction. She appears as a keynote speaker and presents cases and experts.

how to ..... drive transformations with collaborative storytelling.

This week we were at the Change Congress by the Handelsblatt - a congress, where transformation drivers from companies, agencies and individual consultants meet to discuss and learn best practices to move effectively through the various transformations we face.

I took a lot from so many people:
The wonderfully straight forward explanation of Dynamic Shared Ownership by Heike Prinz by Bayer.
The pragmatic and striking transformation of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit by Andrea Nahles. About Qubits, Entaglement and Schrödingers Katze (Lea Steinacker & Miriam Meckel), as well as the various data driven analysis reflections. And that the TU Kaiserslautern, teaches companies about AI (Katharina Zweig). And about Ethics and AI (thanks Magdalena Rogl and Mona Saidze!).

But what triggered me most, was the holistic reflection about transformation. One of the largest transformations we are facing, is the digital. AI. It disrupts how we learn, work, collaborate and innovate.

Together with Yuuki, Alexandra Tamayo and I, were invited to speak and deep-dive about collaborative storytelling and AI. And apart from that it was truely fun, observing the reactions of the audience toward Yuuki, it was truely inspirational reflecting about the possibilities of this kind of storytelling and its effect on transformations. It became very clear, that in Yuukis case, she teaches about AI Tools. But more so, she changes the way people learn and innovate. She sets an example of being brave, of learning from each other, of searching for new ways and developing ideas. And since she connects her brain with AI to bring more ethics into AI - she initiates a reflection on values as well. So by collectively submitting to a storytelling, or rather do collaborative storytelling, we take steps to transform and reflect upon how we want to live, work and innovate.
How wonderful is that?!?

Thank you so much for all the wonderful reflection on that topic. And thank you Claudia Boerl for jumping onto this crazy idea! :-)

BeaWorld Award & Festival

Digital Transformation is one of the strongest defining powers we face right now in organizations and the world. Of course it has something to do with the tools. But much more, it has something to do with a mindset. Learning, leadership, collaboration, x-function, resilience, etc.

We have spoken about Yuuki and the Escape Room in the last couple of months several times. She is a keynote speaker by now and she has won a lot of prices alread. Yuuki. AI-Programmer. As a 3D character, she has become an official employee at Takeda Germany and has taken the other employees on the road to using more AI tools, learning from each other, becoming curious when using new digital tools and exploring their possible usages. The numbers show, that she has become a strong driver of the digital transformation. (thanks for your courage to try something to crazy and new: Sabine & Gudrun & Rüdiger)

Today, Yuuki is nominated in 4 categories and I am going to present her case in front of the juries.:
B2I
use of artifical intelligence
convention
the press jury! 😊
And tomorrow, I am going to give a presentation together with Henry about AI and storytelling and how to drive successful digital transformations.

I am very excited about all of it.
Even more so, since a lot of our 27names group are here in Rome as well, presenting their cases, and we are going to celebrate together - whatever project wins!!!

how to ..... use innovative tools for communication campaigns.

We wanted to let guests experience a very complex issue and at the same time reflect together the challenges of this issue and find solutions. So we first of all developed an explorative VR space, where the guests could deep-dive into the complexities and processes. And second, we built a “campus”. A place where we could reflect the challenges and co-creatively develop solutions. And since no-one cleans up in VR ;-), we can continue building our solutions over time.

So last week, we (Alex, Jan, and I) did a workshop with the internal team, taking them along on the journey, reflecting with them the possibilities of the space and the campaign. AND, Raum - Michael, Martin - we did it with 20 people at the same time! 😊

Looking forward to the next steps!!!
